Root GPS not working

I'm stumped. Currently running Synergy ROM, previously Running Fresh 3.5

Some time - not sure when because I don;t use GPS that often - My GPS won't connect. As in - in Google maps, it never stops saying "searching for GPS signal".

This was happening in Fresh, as well as after a full wipe and install of Synergy.

Using the app "GPS Test", I see that satelites are being seen - but the signal seems to be too weak to sustain a 3 sat connection to get - and keep - locating abilities. I was driving the other day and watched it get *weak* signal from as many as 9 satelites, yet the reception was too weak to hold location longer than a few seconds.

My assumption is this is an antenna issue, or a GOS radio issue, but I really have no clue where to start looking for the answers.

Can anyone offer any help?

i moved your thread to the rooting section.
the dialer is just that. it is the pad that you would enter the phone number with. you are also going to need your msl code. you can get one from the market. that should help hopefully. you can also try and wipe dalvik cache and cache.
 
I did what the link suggested - and still no improvement in reception by the GPS in the phone. according to the app, I am seeing plenty of sattelites, just not getting the signal strength to hold a connection.

Why?

I wiped when I flashed this ROM, and I am thinking the GPS was not working with the previous ROM either.

If you have a reason why this would work, I'd like to know - since it's a pain to reflash everything just to "see". Thanks.
 
If you dont want to completely re-flash your ROM at least try wiping cache and dalvik cache. Its quick and easy and wont require you to reset up everything.

Worth a shot.

like Rxpert83 said you can just wipe dalvik cache and cache. but you can re-flash the rom in addition to it. it might help reset things. try wiping first then if not then rewipe and re-flash the rom. just do not wipe data. all your settings and stuff will still be there as you did not wipe data.
