Is anyone else with me, or do most actually like this growing trend of screen sizes?

Actually, I would like to see more screen real estate. I have all 6 Star Wars movies on my Droid and the 3.7" screen just doesn't do them justice. Not like a 4.65" screen would do them much justice either  but every little bit helps...

Sorry, I'm all for a button-less phone with more screen in roughly the same chassis. Now if we can just get Verizon to release such a device...

I agree with Chief. Although at first i didnt want anything bigger than 4.3, I soon realized as long as it still fits in my pocket, i really just want something to replace my laptop for internet browsing. And i do not want to get a tablet. Might as well have an all in one device.

Can't agree more. We can't draw any clue, conclusion from their model number history. Sometimes small number change brought big upgrade and vice versa. Plus there is no sign of phone like Celox (that deserves Charge 2 name) coming to verizon yet.

According to Mr. Ed (Celox forum), Celox will be AT&T. Squashing our last hope of an SGS2-like phone for VZW.

growing trend??? lol You must be too young to remember this, which was my first cell phone. :D

4.65" screen a problem?

i can't help but thinking that the samsung and verizon people reading this are laughing at us. ;)

@bldgengineer: no problem i don't take it personal ;)
To the battle: i cannot see how the HTC Vigor should be a superior phone than the nexus prime...

the vigor still has got the Adreno 220 GPU, if it would have a brand new Krait CPU including the new Adrena 225 or even 305/325 GPU i would have to admin that, but it doesn't... still lame old 220

the the nexus prime on the other hand will have an omap 4 Soc by texas instruments, id guess the Omap 4470 with ne brandnew PowerVr SGX544 Gpu, or another higher clocked Samsung-own exynos Soc [but there would be problems with the rumoured LTE 4G] including the Arm Mali 400MP4-Gpu

I agree that Vigor with Snapdragon S3 (adreno 220) has no chance in performance battle against Prime. But I noted couple of things to correct in what you said.

Prime has been rumored to get OMAP4460 (SGX540 GPU), not 4470 (SGX544). OMAP4470 won't be ready by the end of year. I also thought Exynos won't blend well with LTE but just realized that Galaxy Note will have 1.4Ghz Exynos coupled with LTE. So Sammy probably managed to get that done and I can't rule out that Exynos rumor. Either way Prime has no problem beating Vigor.

P.S: Note is still interesting to me as it's churning out incredible benchmark with 5.3" SAMOLED HD screen. But I'm not sure if I can live with such large screen phone.

So you ARE READING through this, and you simply let people get this frustrated without clearing up a few things.

Help us out on some rummers to at least say if they are true of false.

No need to reveal anything new, but simply a yes or a no on the rummers we've heard

I'd have a hard time believing that is a real vzw employee let alone an employee at vzw that could share anything of importance.

Some of us are, yes.
:)

Hi! Welcome to Android Forums! :) It's great to have you here, especially inasmuch as you're a vzw employee. :)

On a personal note? You're not going to want to run into me in a dark alley. :p

Sorry guys, I can't spill anything. I love my job too much.

Just wanted to let you know that quite a few of us read the forums and get not a few chuckles out of it.

I can tell you the poem was semi-amusing, but not 100% accurate as it pertains to VZW.

And don't worry so much, you Verizon customers will be VERY happy, just be patient.

I hope so! I'm getting pretty damn frustrated over telling the idiots that keep calling and asking me to upgrade to stop calling and I'll do it when I ready!

Like...happy as in November 3rd happy or happy as in sometime between now and 2050 Verizon will make us happy...;)

Here's how I interpret the info. Nov. 3 is probably correct, the keyboard is not. Just my hunch.

the galaxy note is 4G LTE-ready?

i thought samsung had to switch to qualcomm snapdragon processors for LTE-enabled devices...

i found different information about that, some websites list the Note as a LTE-enabled device, some others say it is only 3g...

but if it is LTE-ready then it would be great if the prime comes with the same Soc (only 100MHz clocked higher)... but then let's hope that it won't be as expensive as the Galaxy Note is...

What about other carriers, ,will their customers be happy as well, or is VZW the only one that will have something to be happy about ?

i guess as a verizon employee he has only exclusive information about the carrier he is working for, why would e.g. Sprint show a verizon worker what they plan to get

i think he'll agree with me ;)

You obviously don't know us all that well. We are a VERY tough crowd to please :)

"VERY happy" to me is a pure Ice Cream Sandwich experience, with an unlocked bootloader, NO OEM user interface like TouchWiz and no bloatware like Netflix, Citrix and Blockbuster.

THAT would make me VERY happy. Now if we can get that phone on Verizon before I die of old age...

They had to switch to snapdragon s3 for Celox, but not for Note.
