All good things must come to an end and so we come to the end of the Galaxy Nexus Speculation/Pre-Release Thread... Why? It’s RELEASED!!! Finally!!! NOTHING MORE TO SPECULATE ABOUT! (and boy, I don’t know about you, but I’m tired!) ENJOY THE PHONE!!!! (Whoa! What a ride, huh?)
Waaaay back on August 23rd, we began a journey as individuals interested in a phone. The amazing this is that on that journey we became a family! What fun we had! High highs and low lows, joyousness and frustrations, right? It seems like only yesterday that we were upset about the phone not being announced, yet. Wait. It WAS yesterday! Never mind.
Our journey has been an amazing one filled with a “Nexus” of valuable information, exclusive leaks, amazing personalities, a “Galaxy” of topics, endless theories and speculation, precious newly formed friendships, lurkers coming out of the corners to sign up, all culminating in the release of a phone that we will all enjoy and remember as the catalyst for this historic record breaking #1 all-time Android Forums thread!! YEAH BABY!! (I think this record will stand for a loooooooong time, don’t you guys? )

(see what I did there? ) amazing thread growth charts (sometimes 3000 posts or more per day!), all because of the rumor and subsequent unveiling of this truly game-changing smartphone! Who can forget the all-night IRC chat parties that began during the lead-up to the Hong Kong unboxing event? Man, that was juuuust crazy! 400 people in a chatroom! Some of us still are on the IRC channel. What a thrill it was for me to preview the phone at the Samsung Experience in NYC and report back to you!
I want to personally thank the major contributors of this thread for your posts and presence... Phases- I told you my plan to make this thread viral from the get go and you didn’t bat an eye. You helped out by putting your stamp of approval on the OP from the start. You allowed us to be off topic at times (most times? ), which also contributed to the threads monstrous growth and its going viral. Amazingly, you didn’t flinch when I put last minute pressure on you to help me get the nearly 400 person IRC party going on the spur of the moment! (The_dude: thank you for making the irc party tick!) Thank you for putting up with my spontaneity! I also appreciate your participation and contributions to this thread as a Nexus enthusiast! Here are some of the steps that have already been taken for the next chapter:
1. Our own member Baby Blues created a Lounge Thread called The Galaxy Nexus Watering Hole which has a similar theme as this thread...enjoy! (I'll see you in there!)
2. We can still be found online live on Android Forum’s own IRC chat channel if you want more real-time conversation and advice from some of the "regulars". You can use an IRC client or simply navigate your web browser to:freenode Web IRC (qwebirc) and join the channel #androidforums. Pretty simple.
3. Of course the “root” section has been fired up of late as the phone was already rooted on 11/3. This phone is a modder’s Nirvanah, Capisci?
