I've been using CleanROM up through v2.5. I switched to CleanROM Developer's Edition as I figured v2.5 would be it. Now DE is working great, it's the fastest ROM I've used yet on the 3D with good stability and battery life. I'm just curious...are there features in v2.6 that are not in DE? Keep in mind I don't care about Beats (not even 100% sure what it is), but I don't want to miss out on any neat features in v2.6. I'm not complaining, mind you...I think it's great that we have so many options for custom ROMs on the 3D, and so far Scott's ROMs are the best I've tried. Thanks...

i'm running DE now and am about to flash this one to see how they compare... a lot of times, your assessment of the ROM is highly dependent on your personal usage. best to try both for yourself.

CR 2.6 Standard just has some updated apps, better camera mod and of course Beats. If you pre fer dev edition just hang tight as I will be pushing out an update to DE that has all these features soon. Like 24 hours soon.

True, and please provide any feedback that you can. I am interested specifically the perceived speed difference. Granted both are fast but you indicated that you felt DE was no faster than Standard.

Well, I personally lean away from using benchmarks to define "fast," since I've had ROMs that gave insanely fast benchmark numbers yet feel clunky, as well as ROMs that give poor benchmarks but run just fine (like cleanROM DE).

TBH, when people say, "wow this ROM is so FAST!" I have no clue what that means. Do apps open faster? Is the framerate better in the UI? Does a website load faster? What exactly gives someone the impression of speed?

I don't care about fast. The stock ROM feels fast enough to me, especially coming from the single-core, lowFPS Evo 4G. I care about energy efficiency. If your ROM can do regular task with less battery power, something I can easily quantify, I'll be happy.

My top priority for a ROM at the moment is one that strips out the BS: crapware, HTC spyware, or any background process I don't need. I can add my system-specific changes, like bash, daemons, etc. Nerf-removal is a definite plus, like being able to tether with stock sprint app, enabling parts of Sense that other HTC phones have that the Evo doesn't, etc.

Scott does this Rom have the HTC loggers removed, I have been on the Stock Rooted Rom for a while now after flashing back and forth with a few of your Roms and others, and decided to try to take the logger off in a process explained in an XDA thread and it did not seem to take the HTC logger off after flashing it from recovery. Click HERE to see how I tried to remove the logger

I also noticed that in my current stock rooted Rom, that I had to revert back and uninstall the SU updates as it was not working for me, so I notice that you have SU 3.0 on this Rom, just want to make sure there will be no issues, as I have read that the latest SU app were still having issues. I went back to version 2.3.6.3, thanks for your input

Flashing as I type. Thanks Scott!!! Also I want to give a shout out to Wake69!!! His very simple instructions on how to flash thru command prompt makes it MUCH easier to do so when custom kernels are involved and one is rooted via Hboot 1.5.

I am coming from DE2.2. Not a bad ROM but it did have a little stutter in it and battery life was not as good as other standard CleanRoms. Hopefully this one will be smooth as butttah like the other standard ones.

Started having force close issues...big time. I am doing a nandroid restore back to 2.2...I still think that is my favorite version...

Been using it for 5 days now and no issues at all here, try booting into recovery, wipe cache and Davlik, and see if that helps

Rooted my phone yesterday with CleanRom. So far, all is well with the exception of my understanding of a couple of things.

Can anyone explain "ROM Updater" to me? Particularly, Addons / Themes. I have done a "Check Now" from the menu, but nothing is showing up. Exactly where do I find these addons and Themes? The configuration page has the ROM server pointing to scottsroms.com. Is there already a Primer for this that I can read?

What is Beats? and What does it do?

Why is my Market showing Youtube as "Not Installed", and there is no install option, only open. BTW, it is on my phone.

Thanks in advance!!!

When I click Addons / Themes, the screen tells me:

BUT, when I go to configure, there is a server link there....

It's got to be there for some reason.... ;) Anyone?

What is tb?

Thanks again!

tb = titanium backup

beats is an audio enhancer that only works with the stock music player and is released with the new htc phones again it does nothing really

when you go to configure server and find server click the server to select it and then check for addons again

My phone became unusable due to EVERYTHING force closing. It happened all of the sudden and I had been using this ROM with no issues since it's roll out. Not sure it was really a ROM issue but who knows. I then did a full wipe. That still did not help! I then restored a previous ROM(2.3sp1). That did it! BUT...just like flashing an original ROM(with Hboot 1.5) and a custom kernel, I got a wifi error...which means I guess you have to restore thru fastboot???? Anyway, interesting stuff. I guess I need to pick a ROM and flash thru fastboot if I want to have one with a custom kernel.

Repeat, if you are Hboot 1.5 and you do a nandroid restore to a ROM with a custom kernel, you will lose WiFi and likely 4G....just FYI....similar to if you flashed a ROM thru recovery with a custom kernel....

It's been almost 24 hours now since I rooted with cleanrom using the CWM method (1.5) . I guess I am scratching my head wondering what the problem is. Other than being able to wi-fi tether, I am noticing no difference between this and my gf's unrooted 3d, except mine seems to be stuck in molasses.. It's very lethargic. I do side by side 3g and wifi speed tests, as well as app launches, and hers is faster 90% of the time. We have similar content, and contacts, but she has way more text messages and emails... What could I have missed? Or, what should I do again?

Hmm, so far I am having no problems whatsoever and am liking this ROM a lot. Before I flashed I did a complete data wipe and reset. I had backed up my apps using Titanium Backup and restored everything without a hitch.

Same here, phones are finicky
