Root Most recent Evo 4g gingerbread update

Hi All,

I've followed a ton of very good advice on this forum and this is my very first post. Sorry if a thread has already been created for this but I could not find one. Last night I recieved a Gingerbread software update for the Evo 4g (4.53.641.1) - 17.01 MB. I see that there was a security issue found with HTC phones over the weekend so would this be the patch already? If it is should I accept the update if I'm rooted with Revolutionary? I know the last time I accepted an OTA update it took forever before I could root again and many have cautioned accepting OTA updates if you are rooted. Any advice in regard to what I should do would be greatly appreciated!

Thanks

welcome to the forums!!!!!!!!!
moved you to the rooting section

never accept an ota when you are rooted. fortunately according to other people they have accepted this ota and was able to still root. but in general you should never accept the ota. all you have to do is wait for the devs to come out with a rooted version of the ota or wait until the devs incorporate it in to one of their roms.

if you go here:http://androidforums.com/evo-4g-all-things-root/284413-roms-kernels-download-page.html. you will see tons of 4.53.651.1 roms out now. and also mikg2.55 has been updated as well. just flash one of those roms and you are good to go.
