Help 4G Results? Speedtest.net -- slow??

Im getting about 18 down and 2 up indoors in my apartment on the Upper East Side.

Jeez... my buddies in alphabet city get more bandwidth out of their dope! (totally joking, just used to live in a basement apartment at Ave B and 3rd.)

Im getting consistent 15MM down and 3-5MM up.....I'm in the outskirts of Philadelphia for me, this thing is blazingly fast.

21kbps down, and 3500 up is what I just got with 3 bars in BKLYN. Pretty much the same thing I was seeing with my TB and Charge.

I cant get over 6mb/2mb after driving all over columbus, and i cant seem to connect 4g from my home "extended 4g coverage". Kinda disappointed and i miss my keyboard, this onscreen one is too big.

I'm In Columbus too. I got one 22000 while tethered to my laptop with pdanet, I'm not getting anything higher than 7000 on my bionic. I have got a few 5000 up. Hoping it would be faster but its still a big improvement over 3g

Sweet.

I get varied 4G speeds, depending on the signal strength, of course. sometimes less than 7 Mbs and I've also gotten speeds in excess of 20 Mbs. Even at 3 or 4 Mbs, perceived speed is fantastic.

Some of you guys results are amazing. I'm with at&t and I tested my "4G". 1.56mbps down 1.08mbps upload. That was out of three tries with three bars inside my house.

I got 10 down and 9 up in the middle of the city...

I think verizon is starting to throttle everyone to 10mb up and 10mb down. I was getting almost 30mb down when i first got my phone. Still 10mb down is decent. People need to stop buying into the fact that their 4G is faster than their home broadband connection. Its simply not true.

While I was down in Disney, I was getting consistently 8-9mbps. I imagine that's due to the high volume of people in such a small area (especially with Disney partnering up with Verizon). Still, my real world speed wasn't all that much of an improvement. DLing wasn't much diff than it was off of 3G here at home. And DLing while on my WiFi (about 7mbps) is much faster. I imagine there's some technical jargon to explain this phenomenon. :p

I am up there in the clouds for speed with 4g, I do notice some variances during certain times. My testing has been from 4-27Mbps Down and 2-16Mbps up. The speeds or connection is not well balanced. My poor computer or the sites I connect to can't run at those speeds most of the time. So life is good. I am just waiting for VZW to get 4 G in the rest of Lake County Ohio. Would love to have it at home.

Ok My speedtest app hasn't been working at all for a while. You guys seem to be having no problems? WTF?

How's it not working? Every once in awhile i can't use it because it can't find a server, but that hasn't happened lately.

Ever since the latest update when I load the app, it says looking for closes server, then says Network Communication Issues. That's all the app will do.

Edit: Looks like I'm not the only one, lots of complains on the market comments.

Edit2: Apparently some people are saying it's blocked to people using AdFreeAndroid or other modified ad-free hosts files. If so, screw ookla.

If so, screw ookla.

Why?

They released something that is FREE for you to use, and yet you are trying to scam them out of the small amount of money they do make for their work?

How is that fair?

If you get something for FREE with the condition of ads paying for it, then try to cheat them out of the ads, it is not their fault of they block you from using their application.

I have the exact same problem.

1. Ad supported software is either pay-by-click or just straight up "We pay you, here is an ad". Since I have never and never will click an ad in android, they lose no money by me blocking said ads. Not to mention, I don't trust any ad servers, as they are prone to exploiting windows PC's to install spyware or other trash.

2. It's no different than an ad-blocker on a windows machine. I saw screw them because I will no longer use their product. They have every right to block users who choose not to view ads, and I have every right to say screw them for it and not use their product.
