Root Horrible Battery Life

One other thing to keep in mind when i first rooted and started flashing roms my battery life seemed realy bad but i realized i never put the phone down because i was checking everything out and constantly flashing. once i started using the phone like before i was rooted the battery lasted longer than when i was stock.

Agreed. I find it hard to let anything settle for a few days because I constantly want to flash something new.

Idk, I downloaded the more freedom universal.zip, I wasn't sure so I just chose that one lol. They also say it takes a little while for it all to settle in, so hopefully I see some more out of it.
the difference on the kernals is the amount they undervolt your phone. i think there is a freedom version 9 out, here is the link http://www.mediafire.com/?0dxde4clck4xo#2jldterwp81jq,1 ,which i am currently running and to me it is better for my phone then the other freedom kernals, i tried all to see which one was better for my phone. (d/l the universal one out of the three.)

As far as battery life i get a full day of battery now and I can use alot of features on the phone. I am running MiK3D with the freedom 9 kernal and V6 supercharger on setting 7, I believe (512 super)I had tried all the settings under 512 and this one has made my phone noticeably faster and snappier than the other two. I also flashed the r3wired theme for this rom and it is a killer theme, been running it for a few days now and no problems. The only thing I have turned on is mobile data and data sync, everything else I turn on when i need it and off when im done. I also have the task manager off and it shows I have between 105 and 110 free memory every time. I also have setcpu on the smartass governor and I have it overclocked to 1152 and min setting is 245 (I found setting it lower than that makes my phone lag). Also no need for any other profiles unless you prefer, (actually I have a charging profile set to performance) because this governor has an off screen profile. i tried interactiveX and ondemand, but they seem to eat up more battery then smartass. I cant quite remember any other setting, so if you have any questions about any post them up and ill see if I can help to let you know how mine are set....

Should I run v6 supercharger and 3g turbocharger scripts with this?

that is up to you. the v6 script just makes your phone a tad bit faster. however do not expect any huge difference though. it is very small, but i can tell the difference. i have not tried the 3g turbo yet.

Thanks, I am going with this Rom/Kernal and just added the v6 supercharger. Still looking for the right combo for great battery life, I have yet to find it.

I am getting this on reboot -
The application Google Search (process com.google.android.googlequicksearchbox) has stopped unexpectedly).

Please try again.

can you be more specific? what app are you using? what happens when?

friend of mine sent me a picture via text and i click download and it does nothing.

Also the"searchbox" error I posted about previously is still happening and now "News & Weather" is causing an error and closing. I have cleaned dalvik 3 times.

you also need to wipe cache as well as dalvik cache. what do you normally wipe when flashing a rom?

you also need to wipe data as well when you flash a rom. but to fix some glitches and such dalvik cache and cache should help. do you use superwipe? what recovery do you use?

revolution cwm I believe, its whatever I had to do when I rooted using the guide here.

ok you have clockwork mod 5 something i believe. it is an ok recovery, but i always recommend amon ra over anything else. but that is up to you. there are some things like superwipe that you will not be able to flash. cwm uses edify while most file like superwipe uses amend scripting.amon ra 2.3 and cwm 2.6 and trwp are the only recoveries that are compatible with both scripts.

so if you want to use superwipe which wipes system, boot and cache as well as all temp files and it does it 3x. it just makes sure that you have a clean environment for your new rom. but you need to switch recoveries if you want to use it.

otherwise i would wipe data, dalvik cache and cache and do it three times before flashing roms with cwm. it just does not wipe very well.

to switch recoveries use the http://androidforums.com/evo-4g-all...ooting-dummies-guide-gingerbread-edition.html. it has a switching recovery section.
