***Official Galaxy Nexus Pre-Release speculation thread**

Ok, but what about all this internal exclusives he has acces to - eg. wallpapers and system sounds he publicated last days? Where he works? Does he even have any closer contact with the Google or any carrier sleuths?

He clearly has a contact within Google or Samsung (probably Samsung given that he had leaks for the Charge as well).

However, don't you have coworkers? Tell me, do 100% of them know 100% of the information in the company? Are all of them privvy to upper management's decisions? Do any of them make mistakes?

Having a source within a company doesn't mean that he's completely reliable.

Removing features? nooooooooooo! Hope it's not ture :(:(

Without a history of quality information, don't believe anything like that.

The lawsuit that was linked earlier in the thread, which was in the US against Samsung, was filed a while ago. I seriously doubt they're going to cancel an event last-minute to yank a bunch of features out of an OS when they had plenty of warning. And in any event, the lawsuit was against Samsung, not Google. Since this version of Android is not a customized implementation by Samsung, I would tend to doubt that Apple has a case against Samsung regarding the core features of the OS.

This is an old link and an old article, but it is a great read! It's the old report from 4Chan, transcribed and re-posted, that was leaked a while back. Notice this guy's description of Ice Cream Sandwich. Does it sound like what we have now seen in leaked videos? I definitely think so. I think this report is correct. Decide for yourself.

When I read this, it sounds a lot like the GSMArena specs and the description of ICS sounds a lot like the video from Romania. I would like to think that we'll get the Exynos 1.5 GHz but if we get the OMAP 4460, I'll be fine with it as long as the software is really well optimized. I still don't like that fact it has an older GPU, PowerVR SGX 540, which doesn't compare well to A5's SGX543MP2 or even Mali400. However, having pure Nexus and Super AMOLED HD screen will make up for it. Looking forward to Nov. 3.

If Eldar Murtazin said anything, I'm inclined to believe him more than many other sources. The man has his connects. What'd he say? How many pages back should I go to find it?

Wow I forgot about this. A lot of details that at this point seem to be more correct than not. Darn it! I may not be able to resist this phone!

Page 117, Martuzin says Google is deleting some features from ICS now, due to patent war.

@eldarmurtazin Because Google still have patent issues. I thought the Moto deal will help them in that?

He said that they're taking features out of ICS that infringe on Apple patents.

So, one day, When Smart Phones/tablets become as powerful, prominent, and useful as lets say a PC Laptop, ... There's going to become a time in the next few years where these things are powerful enough to fun a full computer style OS. Whether it be Windows, Linux, Chromium, or an apple OS.

In many ways they already are as powerful. Motorola Atrix has docking capabilities so you can connect to a large screen and keyboard.

Oddly enough, instead of smartphone OSes evolving toward the desktop, the reverse has happened. Windows 8 will introduce a new user interface geared much more toward touchscreen usage. Ubuntu Linux has also migrated that way (with considerable community opposition).

haha iPhone 4s has still 512 MB ram only :D
[source (sry it's a german tech-news-website)]

Wikipedia uses gdgt.com as a primary source to claim 1GB, but Apple doesn't specify and I don't know who's right. But yeah, 512MB is silly for a just introduced high-end phone.

Good morning everyone. I'm amazed at how little you guys sleep, (except for those of you in Germany, Poland, etc. . .but still, you're obsessed!)

Pot. Kettle. Black.

Your reading comprehension skills are also old and out of date.

Has there been any leaked info that would make me NOT want this phone?

While far from confirmed, there are rumors of non-removable battery. That's a non-starter for me; I always travel with a spare and want the option of an extended battery.

Not to mention, batteries get weaker over time and I want to be able to spend $6 on eBay after a year or two so I can sell or give the phone away in full capacity ready-to-use condition.

Link to an interesting perspective on "how important is screen size?" Focuses on SGSII vs iP4 but is relevant to us as well.

Good piece, thanks. I didn't realize the benefits of larger screen until I went from 3.7" OG Droid to 4.3" Droid Charge. Now I lust after the 5.3" Galaxy Note (well, if it was available on VZW in the US, didn't cost an arm and a leg, and ran ICS).

Greetings, Primelings.

I've been reading this stuff on the Phandroid app on the way home. Almost crashed. But ok. I'm going to have a late breakfast and maybe wash the dogs. They're filthy.

I was seriously doubting the reliability of Steven's source until this "Eldar" business. Steven's source was the only one (I believe) that pointed to ICS being one of the reasons of the announcement delay. This Eldar guy seems to confirm that.

That being said, the major players (including p3Droid and BMX) are still saying November 3.

I'm not too worried.

Hello guys and gals,
This is my first post. However, I have been enjoying this thread for the last 7 days or so...man am I pooped...but excited!:D

Now, the reason I signed up is I just wanted to share something that may or may not be important, but is interesting.

The 4chan link posted earlier mentions a "Games pane". To me that links up nicely with the Nexus Prime supposedly being in the Gaming electronics category at CTIA.

What do you fine people think?

the problem i have isn't that it might get delayed, that doesn't bother me a bit. what bothers me is that they're apparently taking out features. that SUCKS

but, i'm not ready to take his word on it yet

Yeah, maybe Google caught wind of a feature in Ice Cream Sandwich that was going to be a major target for Apple to pursue patent litigation against, they decided to remove or alter it a bit. If they would have announced it as-is today, Google would have been on video unveiling new software that, possibly, may have infringed on an Apple patent or at least would have been fuel for a possible patent dispute fire in the future. It sounds like to me that Steve Job's passing merely happened to give them a small window to address said issue, and they took it. I'm sure, whatever it was, was a good call on Google's part. I wouldn't think this would affect the launch of the phone, just the announcement of it and the next version of Android, as it was apparently a software issue, not hardware.

Welcome to the Forums. Any and all speculation is welcome here. So, thank you for that.:)
I'm not looking forward to the N P specifically for gaming but that WOULD be some nice frosting on the cake. Mmmm ice cream sandwich cake.:p
