Root NEED HELP ROOTING DHD running on 2.3.3

Hi Guys, Im new here need help in rooting my DHD
Android Version 2.3.3
HTC Sense Version 2.1
Baseband Version 12.54.60.25U_26.09.04.11_M2
Kernel Verison : 2.6.35.10-gd2564fb
Build Number : 2.50.707.4
Software Number: 2.50.707.4

But for some reason after downloading busybox and SU

and follow the CMD prompts i get an error of ADB not found
debugging mode is enabled and im stuck i really need help regarding this

and also when i run SU on my phone - SU binary is outdated and for some reason i cant update as well

any help would be appreciated

do i need to hold down the volume-down button? if i do rooting wont work for me... physical button is shot for some reason...
 
still getting an error - "adb is not recognized as an internal or external command,operable program or batch file" my goodness getting really stupid at this help please!!

Try to download adb driver zip for htc.then extract to a specified folder in your computer eg.desk top.;)
 
I'll read up on the requirements when I get home from work. As it stands, that's a fairly new process to me so I don't know the ins and outs of it.

As per a few posts up, you're gonna be limited to what you can do anyway if your volume down key is broken as that's needed for accessing the bootloader (unless you have the SDK installed) and navigating your way around clockwork. I'd sort that before you start rooting.

I got stuck at this bit as well mate. Are you sure you have uninstalled all phone pda and tablet software from your pc. I forgot to take of my Asus tranformer software when i figured that ot every thing went fine

htc bmp usb driver would be the only thing i might have missed.
would that be it do you reckon?
 
Have you tried getting another copy of the hack kit? Maybe it could be something like the one you downloaded was slightly corrupted. I know it's a long shot (and someone should correct me if i'm wrong about it) but that could fix it

well, i've tried using the method found here:

6 times so far.
seems to run ok until the 'sending image' stage.
then hangs.

i've also tried the method found here:

again, seems to run fine.
until bootloader says can't find image. or wrong image.

<sigh>

i just can't figure out what i'm doing wrong??

could it be the sd card?
it's a 2gig one that was lying about.
i thought i'd use that instead of 16 gig i have in phone.


clutching at straws now :/

it is, as far as i can tell.
will give that a try.
might be making myself look stupid, but that version of hack kit seems to be a windows download.
is there another version anywhere?

I'm sure there are .sh commands in there which are linux executables/cmd files. I did download the hack kit to see what it contained and what the deal was, but deleted it last night, sorry. :rolleyes:
 
finally.
got the advanced hack kit to work.
not sure if it was the recent update, or i did something i should have done originally, but who cares :)
