Help GB voicemail notification issue

Well looks like I have this issue, that I've heard discussed. I rebooted because performance seemed sluggish, and after reboot I got voicemail notification. There were five messages, which I deleted. Now the notification won't go away.

vzw knows about it and will give you free visual vmail until it's fixed, just call support and ask for level 2 to help.

Yeah, it is slightly annoying, especially the times I get a voicemail but no missed call notification. But I don't get too many calls, so its not a horrific experience for me.

I consider this more than an annoyance. It's a massive screwup that deserves more attention than its getting. This is a wireless telephone, this feature is critical.

I spent a couple hours on the phone complaining yesterday. People on the other end of the line talked like they never heard of problems with the TB. Got a call from a supervisor today. Her response was basically "I feel sorry for you but nothing we can do". I felt like I was the ONLY person that EVER called with a TB problem, even though I knew that couldn't possibly be true. 2.3.4 took a marginal phone and moved it from miserable to totally unacceptable. Mine is my business. I miss calls because the ringer doesn't always ring or I am on the phone with someone else and then have no clue that there is voicemail.

Don't know about you but I am tired of rebooting every couple hours. Then, when you get the notifications after rebooting, the only way I have found to get rid of the notification is to reboot again.

The good news is that the Verizon people told me the fix was "Coming Soon". LOL

I followed the advice of using Google voice and that works. I know, we should not have to find a work-around, but other than the voicemail issue, with the GB update, my phone has been functioning much better.
