Hello Everyone! I hope you can bear with me since I have NO knowledge about phone and am hoping to learn a few things from you all!
My first question is Is there such a thing a a person that can root your phone for you? Not for free of course seeing as how you need some sort of knowledge to do this kind of stuff. What would you recommend?
Also, I am as clumsy as they come and have managed to drop my phone already. It had a case at the time of the fall. The only problem I see with it is that it seems a bit slow. Not sure if its just the phone or some other factors? It has an 8GB SD card.
Once again please don't snap at me for not knowing the necessary terms or for sounding newb-ish.

You do not need to be a technician to learn how to root your phone, most people here are un-regisered lurkers, and most likely, just kids with almost no experience like you.
People pretty much read very simple tutorials in here where a lot of times they even make "noob-proof" tools for you to use.

As for the Esteem, there is already a 1 click root option, and some info on how to remove unnecessary bloatware. I say some, because as you can see, there isn't "sticky" threads just yet with official info, just info gathered from experiences from previous similar Metro Phones.
That's why people here may be able to safely remove apps similar from previous phones like the Optimus M, but some others have problems when they remove an app that they shouldn't.
For that reason, you shouldn't pay anyone to do something you could've done for free, and learn from it at the same time.
I STRONGLY recommend you wait on official threads, because those will have people who already went through more testing to give you more error-proof tutorials.
Why I say this? Because I remember this kid from youtube who made a LOT of money flashing people's EVO 4G phones so that they would work on Metro's network... the only problem was that he would only follow an outdated tutorial from XDA Develper's forum, and leave their phones without MMS, voicemail features, and no internet. He disappeared mysteriously,and who knows if he gave back the phones a lot of people were eager to send him based on the comments he would get.
I'm not saying a good rooting service from an unknown person doesn't exist. All I would strongly advice you is to just be patient for now, and you will be very easily be able to root it on your own.
In the mean time, read up tutorials on the Optimus M, and Evo 4G, just to have an idea how similar your experience will be,and get used to various rooting terms, as well as tools used.
Do not ever trust unorganized, out-dated, unprofessional tutorials like the ones in Youtube or other sources. XDA Develper's forums, and these forums are the best place you will ever be at, where you shouldn't get charge money for something you can do for free, and receive bad information.
