***Official Galaxy Nexus Pre-Release speculation thread**

There's not even confirmation of any kind of pre-order availability, so if November 10th is the release date, it's most likely a slipped date from November 3rd.

And the only november 10 confirmation is that map pic...so much for wishfull thinking.

I am still holding out hope for a November 3rd release. Stephen's source has not said otherwise, even our Twitter guys have not said otherwise. A very sketchy roadmap is the only thing that has said different. I am rarely this optimistic, but I thought I would try to make a change.

Welp, i haven't heard back about the date yet.

i know what im waiting for with ics and hopefully android finally perfects this. yes thats rite screen shots! haha apple got that rite! they take the notification bar we get screen shots. come on galaxy & ics. make us proud.

I only thought preorder because of the dates being a week different exactly and the way it looks nothing is being pushed back a week and stephen's source sounds as if something will happen on the 3rd. Let me know if i'm way off on this.

Edit:

Nothing to see here, folks, move along. Posted a link here that has already been rehashed and I didn't know.

Just look at this and move along. Thanks and sorry, in advance.

Hey, they can't all be Diane Kruger!!

I am getting a bit less enthused for the Galaxy Nexus itself with each passing day, along with its accompanying speculation of the SOC (not to mention even a short exclusive period with Verizon).

But... my excitement for Ice Cream Sandwich continues to grow. I really hope it "WOWs" us. Can't wait for Tuesday night!

Was looking at the Full retail on the SGS2 and it seems to be about $500 (sprint) and $530 (TMo). Do you guys think it will be about the same for the Nexus?

Well, had a close call with the og droid. Data stopped functioning. Tried fixing it and lost cell function completely. Thought I was going to have to go pick up a phone tomorrow morning... luckily I fixed it so I can make it another few weeks!

Are you running Cyanogenmod? I know they have a 3G problem, although I'm not sure if it's fixed in the recent 7.1 release.

i'm going to remind the people who are concerned about the FCC filings that Steven's source did say specifically to not worry about them. I'm sure their is a reason for that. Sorry if someone already brought this back up. I've been at work and i'm behind

I have read that this thing is supposed to have a metal body. Anyone else out there hear about this tidbit? Sorry if it has already been discussed.

Everything has already been discussed. :p

All we really have are pictures, and some of them look metal, others look plastic, but none are good enough to be definite. So....we just wait, like we do for most things.

I hope it has a metal body. My DX has been a tank. In a combat situation, it would work better than a ninja star.

But.....but.......I wanna know now. That is it! I am going to hold my breath until this phone is announced!

Throw LTE in the device and the price seems to jump up another $100-$200...
Edit: wow no news for 2 days and this thread bites the dust.

Since I currently own a IP4, I subscribe to the IP forum and I've been reading reviews comparing various current generation Androids to the IP4S. I felt compelled to add this to the forum:

You can't compare apples to oranges( pardon the poor analogy), but the Samsung Galaxy Nexus will be coming out soon. It will have a 4.65inch HD screen and a dual core processor, plus run a pure Android 4.0 ICS. This is the device that should be compared with the IP4S. I think there will be some very interesting results.

Does anyone else feel strangely a little disappointed in all the attention this phone is getting? I owned the nexus one and currently have a nexus s, and something I loved about both phones was the fact they were great phones that noone else had. As nexus devices get more coverage and go more mainstream I wonder if nexus will become the new iPhone at which point I'll have the same phone as everyone else, which for me is undesirable. Feel free to flame, I know this is a stupid thought process, just thought maybe I'm not alone in my stupidity.

I dont want to go too far off topic, but most youtube comparisons i see between the ip4s and the gs2. The gs2 has the edge in most categories. (exynos versions) ICS will only further the gap.

If Google runs this operation correctly with Samsung, they can make the Nexus a Premium phone with all the best features. Then they can run Motorola division with slightly less featured phones at a lower price point.
