As an fyi Verizon was listed as a carrier for the Nexus 1 i dont know what ever happened to that one though
People can change right...you have changed your opinions many times during this thread, so could you agree that corporations can change strategies also over time?
I will admit that history has not been kind to the idea that Verizon has worked off of a consumer demand business platform but just like most corporations they have found that if they want to continue to compete in the market place they must adapt to changing consumer demands...do you follow me?
In resent months we can find examples were Verizon has shown examples of changing their philosophy of controlling all aspects to suite their own wants and actually they have given up some control and adapted to consumer demands in an effort to gain market share.
Examples...
Motorola Droid, unencrypted unlockable boot loader.
Motorola Xoom, unencrypted unlockable boot loader, Verizon bloatware free and updates directly from Motorola and Google.
Apple iPhone 4, Verizon bloatware free and updates directly from Apple.
So over the years and most recently Verizon has shown the ability and willingness to adapt to consumer demands and corporate pressure in the development devices.
Have they passed on devices over the years when all signs (Rumors) pointed to other results...yes but what corporation hasn't backed out of deals. Could this be one of those events...anything is possible but the evidence surrounding this exclusive deal is far above anything Verizon has ever backed out of before so the odds are against it.
Even Verizon can change, they see and understand that the consumer drives their business and even a developers phone...and I believe the Nexus is much more than that, can drive new business to Verizon and they know that.
In my opinion they are playing hard to get with Google, they are attempting to gain an advantage in future ventures with Google and Samsung. Verizon has the #1 most advanced network in America and they know it...Google and Samsung knows it and that is why Google and Samsung want this device on the Verizon 4g LTE network. Its a game and we need to understand that there are billions of dollars at stake for all of them and its not a game....its business!
