Yes the phone got discontinued meaning we wont get any update 2.3 or 4.0.... And even if the phone wasnt discontinued we would only get 2.3 if for some crazy reason we had got 4.0 it'll be crappy and watered down, kinda like how ps3 games come out on the wii.

I don't know what they are able to do as of now, but the Cyanogen development team is very capable and as soon as they release CM9 bob PG and reppard will all compile a rom I am sure.

I don't know why kaiser is trying to piss in your cheerios but disregard his comment, he is no developer, he has no idea what is going on...

Read the news...lol. If nothing else the Android Ice Cream Sandwich makes a good wallpaper. In all seriousness though, as soon as the source code drops the Cyanogen team is gonna begin working on CM9.

Look around on this forum guys, if people are on here begging like bums in a soup line for 2.3 and you havent even saw a glimpse of it on any phone what makes you think you'll get 4.0.......Not to mention I dont think they'll release 2.3 and 4.0 for us back to back this isnt pokemon red & blue.

For argument sake i'll say we get 2.3 DOWN THE LINE but ICS no, the optimus has had a good run and is a very good phone but its done. Want ICS get a Nexus.

I'm really hoping for ICS on the Optimus M, just for a hands on sampling of what it can do.

If you really want to see how ICS would look on the optimus then download the launcher first. It looked good to me. But I'm pretty sure no one is going to go really quickly with making an ICS rom on the optimus, I give it more than 6 months before anyone tries to pull a custom rom that looks like it on any type of phone. But for right now I must wait until the Nexus comes out, from what I heard, that phone is truly the future of Android.
