If the data drop issue is fixed with the "early November update" then I'll be 100% satisfied with the Bionic. I bought mine the day after they went on sale at Costco, and got their accessory bundle.
I also came from an OG Droid (rooted and overclocked) that was becoming more & more temperamental as time went on. It was just getting to the point where it was unreliable.
I'm satisfied with the Bionic screen. Honestly, it looks fine to me. I played with a Droid working demo for about 20 minutes at the Verizon store to make sure I was going to be happy with it before heading over to Costco to make my purchase.
The camera has not been an issue for me. I am an amateur photographer and usually have a digital SLR close at hand if I'm going to be taking pictures. The phone on this camera works fine in a pinch-much better than what was on the OG droid, even after the software fix.
I purchased two extended batteries through Verizons web site, so I have no complaints with the battery life of this phone.
There are two excellent Apps in the Android Market that replace the stock camera. You ought to try them both. "Vignette" and "Camera Zoom FX".
The camera ion the Droid X was simply awful compared to the Bionic.
