I appreciate loyalty. So, the question then becomes: gawd forbid the GNex doesn't come to vzw, what then - Razr, Rezound (i just threw up in my mouth a little, just typing that), or wait for the next greatest in '12???

Quad core, baby. Quad. Core.

Verizon has been nothing but good to me. I have a family plan and have been their customer since 2002. They've bent over backwards for me by bending rules. I lost my xv6900 (HTC Touch) after three months. I didn't get insurance. They replaced it for me for the discounted price. They didn't have to that.

They've given me a free month of service once when I complained about their sales tactics once. I said, there's nothing you can do for me. The CSR said that there was. She made sure I left happy. She gave me a free month. I was surprised.

There several other things they did for me. I'm very appreciative. They've kept my business for sure. I'm loyal.

Steven

... love how you conveniently omitted how you made them take back your DINC after your return period had ended - simply because you wanted the DX more!!! :p

If it doesn't come to vzw I will consider the Vigor (I can't call it that R name anymore, it's horrendous) but if that doesn't twist my panties then I'll be waiting for the new batch in 2012

Just wanted to pop in and say "hi". Still too excited about getting this phone. I was actually a little sleepless the other night after watching the presentation because I got overly excited about ICS's features. And that big screen, of course. :)

you say these things like they're facts. how do you know that verizon doesn't want to be the one to announce it, on their terms, when they want to? Samsung and Google saying that it will be available on Verizon IS announcing it. Device announcements aren't something taken lightly. There is a lot of timing and planning that goes along with them. With the high-end devices verizon has coming out, i'm sure they have a very specific announcement/ launch schedule they're following. The Galaxy Nexus just isn't there hot ticket item at the moment. They probably have a big Droid campaign lined up for the RAZR (which they would prefer to sell) and announcing a nexus device would steal its thunder.

My opinion is that they should need VZW's approval to build a device for their network so long as it complies to FCC requirements for not causing troubles while on VZW's network and that it can't gain access to their network without a VZW approved SIM. That was basically what the FCC promised Google for networks build on 700mhz spectrum freed up by the analogue TV auction for after the digital switch.

It's possible G/S would not do this just to try and get the device VZW subsidy and such and keep VZW happy as you seem to be suggesting. My feel really is though that VZW should have been included in the CTIA invites. Just the fact you agree they plan to support the RAZR over this device in general and it's locked up like Fort Knox I consider disheartening.

not currently. Grew up in a small town north of GI (population 580), and went to UNL. Spent a TON of time in the 'Ha tho, and particlarly the bars... :) moved to Phx in 90, after college - couldn't take another winter!

Hah, I went to middle school and HS in a town with 210 people 60 miles north of Ogallala. So I win, THAT's isolation! Which town near GI was it? My mom grew up around Ravenna and had cousins that grew up in St. Paul and the general area there. I'm in DFW, TX now. Not a UNL or Omaha familiar guy though, but am a Husker fan of course.

I've never had a problem with their customer service or sprint's believe it or not. I've had vzw now for 6 years and sprint for 6 before that. My problem with vzw right now is the amount of money you have to pay every and the fact that every year they continue take more and more incentives away for that price.

Thank god I still have unlimited data and a NE2 or I'd seriously think about going back to sprint

So they are worried about a developer phone with pretty much no marketing dollars behind it and with a very specific target market stealing thunder and cannibalizing sales from a device (RAZR) that will be so heavily marketed that our heads will spin.

I should have quoted you and you may have missed my post. This is what you are saying, correct?

Greeley - just 25 miles from St Paul. Spent a LOT of time chasing girls there! Played Ravenna in football and baseball all thru HS. Too funny!!

Quad cores? Maybe at CES, but when can we realistically expect quads to hit store shelves? Next summer? Next November??

Sorry, my poor Droid can't wait that long. I wish she could, but she is ticking me off more & more every day with her... eccentricities.

Sure, I think that's a fair assessment. I'd ask yourself how often you use, in my example above, the world clock or the timer or the stopwatch...I only use my alarm clock from the Clock App. If I wanted a world clock, there are probably 1,000 of them in the market. I couldn't say a "ton" because I don't know how many of the functions you typically use...But you're definitely on the right track. You'll find the scrolling and speed of a launcher not named Rosie (like ADW Ex, for example), is WAY smoother and faster. It's just streamlined.

One thing I'd add is that since none of us have actually ever used ICS yet we don't know how much of what Sense was doing is now baked in. You may not need to download much at all if ICS has already got that feature built in.

Who will make 14K? who? WHO?

Official Mod Edit: Whoever makes 14K better have a nice pretty 14k picture.

Tech chatter predicted that the first quad-core phone could hit the shelves in 1Q 2012, but that seems to be a little behind schedule. There could be one released in the summer, but I'm not expecting any until towards the end of next year now.

Never know, though. We could get an early surprise. :)

Oh, yeah... haven't even seen them in tablets yet. I'm betting July/Aug/Sept at the earliest. No way I can last that long either. If they announced some super phone now (even just dual core) and guaranteed it would be released by March, I don't know if I could wait...

Fourteen Thousand!!!
