my bad. i was trying to get my sister's ipod touch to intitialize on my ubuntu desktop. not as easy as i thought. anyway, i'm not saying they are afraid of it cannibalizing sales, just that its a possibility. maybe verizon is going to market the crap out of the Galaxy Nexus too, but they have some kind of special launch/ announcement planned? none of us know and thats why its unfair to suggest things as facts. i'm just trying to give some reasons of why they may not have announced it yet. instead of giving "facts" about why they did not.

i respect and understand your stance and opinions. most of my comments haven't been directed at things you are saying. you have apprehensions about why they didn't announce and i think there are good reasons for them not to. yet. i don't see any reason to expect an announcement until november

Just a question... does Verizon have a 4G LTE market what was it, Hong Kong where they made this announcment of ICS and this phone? If not why WAS there a verizon (not to mention the LTE logo) on this phone in the demo?

I wouldnt sell any vzw phone in anticipation of getting the nexus..that would be a very bad idea!!

the current thought is that they built verizon models of it but are now cancelling production on them.

Or here's another crazy idea. Maybe Verizon's deal with Motorola for the Razr has a clause that they can't announce another phone for x days before or after their announcement date. Remember the Razr is exclusive to VZW in the US so VZW has got to be giving them something for that exclusivity. Personally I think the Razr is more important to Motorola than to VZW. I don't think Verizon really cares what phone we get as long as we keep signing those 2 year locked in agreements.

May be one of older devices, used for testing. When it comes to Verizon, he knows more then me and you. As much as I don't like the way he delivers, don't forget every single update for DX, Charge etc was leaked y him

Yeah, he's on my nerves. Whether we get it or not he seems to get off on making people manic.

Don't think this is it for me so much as it seems they are trying to get a final blessing and acceptance of the device from VZW for contract/subsidy and VZW retail store sales and such. If I remember correctly the HTC Merge that could be put on VZW did eventually show up in odd sales channels didn't it?

exactly. i mean you can come up with reason after reason as to why they haven't announced and why they should have announced it. we're all just beating a dead horse at this point. we should just be concentrating on a great new nexus device and Android 4.0 and let the carrier stuff sort itself out.
