Personally I don't like it. I love the hyperskin look, and the Windsock's nexus looks bloated. The three connector dots are way down against the edge, whereas the one unveiled in HK has them straight smack in the middle.

It's true that DirecTV will provide 1080p thru VOD via the internet. It's also true that they broadcast a limited set of PPV at 1080p via the satellite downlink - I watch them sometimes. Sometimes they're ok, sometimes they skip frames - but that's a matter for a different forum.
The ATSC standard allows for 1080p broadcast (OTA), but I suspect that the reason they don't is more a matter of economics, from program supply thru transmitter upgrades thru consumer demand.
Checking... yep, my leg's pretty safe here.![]()

Unfortunately, packing LTE in nex is gonna give it a little bloat vs the GSM version.
Am I the only person on Earth that thinks the Razr is the most lackluster phone announced in a long time?
Its a Bionic in a smaller case. NFC? Nope. HD screen? Nope. Stock Android? Nope. Fastboot oem unlock? nope.
No lie, I have a half vacation day saved specifically for this.
Geesh, I'm just not that sensitive to the thinness of a phone. Pack that LTE AND A 2000 mAh battery in there and ship it.
Im fine with it.. i like the way P3droids photo looked. I was responding to Hans comment that it looked "bloated".
Don't scoot away. I don't bite (unless.... Well, never mind).
I have to say that I truly enjoy the info and banter in here.

something we all knew to most likely be the case, with this being a nexus and all, but BMX just tweeted this...
interesting he makes sure to state it was one of googles "must haves", but it shows vzw agrees to this long ago

Agree from us crazy enthusiast/tech heads perspective. I think on the open market it will do well though, even if it didn't have better advertising money than the Nexus as it probably will. To the uninitiated/informed it would seem like the higher end device in the store I figure. Maybe Moto will get the next Nexus and we will get a really high end material Nexus for once. I actually like the RAZR, but it's just a weak device to an enthusiast like me because of it's locked up messed with UI nature. And lack of NFC was odd to me also as that's about to go gang busters and could be pretty nifty to have. Is that mostly only a samsung things till??
Notice he also said we so he's either with Google or Samsung.

Can anybody decipher how many mAh that battery is?

As far as the "wood-grain/brushed aluminum" look on P3's device, I don't think he had a final build. I just re-watched the part of the unveiling video where he's talking about the hyperskin, and he doesn't make a distinction between LTE and HSPA+ models, like he did with the thickness of the phone.
I'm pretty sure that all SGNs will have the hyperskin texture. They're using it as an extra feature. What that says about p3's device, I have no idea, but I think it leads towards him not having a final build.
1. HD screen - how many devices have screens of at least the same resolution and SAMOLED? How many devices have higher resolution screen ATM?
2. NFC - How many phones have NFC and with how many phones you can exchange information ATM?
3. Stock Android - Root, Titanium Backup and Root Explorer and 90% of Blur is gone.
4. OEM unlock - how many people really flash their phones iwth non-manufacturer ROMs?
I have been a tech enthusiast for a very long time nad have had a lot of handsets in the last 11-12 years (check my sig) and I do not think that raw power on its own makes a good phone. It all about what is good for you.
I have had 2 Motorola Milestones 1 and 2 and have always been very happy with them, even though they are far from being high end devices. Why have I been so happy with them? BEcause they suit my needs.
The same goes for the Razr. I agree it will sell well based on the looks. It will also sell well because it is a good phone. Not everyone needs the newest software or THE best hardware. Some people however, cannot live without external storage and lack thereof killed Nexus for me. 9 Months a year I spend in a place where the fastest network I get is EDGE and 237kbps - do you imagine me using cloud to store my apps and movies? I cannot imagine that. Will I be flashingROMs every two days? No, because I work 12 hours a day and need a workingphone all of the time and not a toy that is being set up from scratch every few days because I decide to try another ROM.
Answer is simple - these are two completely different phones and even though I agree in some areas (only screen resolution and CPU as even the GPU is the same) is a better device, but they are not light years apart technologically for sure.
I hope this post does not come as offensive as that is not my intent. My only intent is to show to some that CPU speed and newest OS is not everything every geek needs.
I'm so used to the extended battery on my Incredible that a thin phone feels really strange.
1. How many phones have a higher res and are either out now or by the end of the year? iPhone 4, iPhone 4S, Samsung Note, Galaxy Nexus, HTC Vigor, Galaxy SII LTE HD, and LG Optimus LTE HD. Every OEM has an HD flagship phone this year... except Moto with their qHD.1.

Say you have this phone rooted and rom'ed and Google throws out and update will you have to unroot to get the update.
