I'm sorry, I don't understand what you mean? What lock screen button are you referring to? If the power off commands are coming up it sounds like your pressing the power button too long
Have you tried rebooting? How did you flash CM7? Did you manually use ClockworkMod Recovery or did you use ROM Manager?
Ok, so i flashed a completely different rom, Bamf, and i have the same problem. So it can't be a software problem right? What do i do because i obviously voided my warranty being rooted.
I think you may be doing something wrong. I haven't ever seen this problem, on any ROM. Would you mind explaining how you're flashing the ROM, step by step? It will give me (us) a better idea on how to help you
i go to clock word recovery, wipe my data (factory reset), then wipe my cache partition, then delvik cache, then install from zip, choose zip from sd, pick the rom, yes. Then i reboot. Maybe i need to also flash something else? like a kernel or something (i don't know what those do)
No, that is correct. The only thing I can think of is it may be a bad download. Are you using ROM Manager to download the ROM? Whether yes or no I would try downloading the ROM again from xda or rootz, or where ever it's listed
All my roms are downloaded from scotty's list here at androidforums. (By the way the current cm7's didn't seem to flash correctly, then again i'm still a noob and could have messed up)

:cough, cough: that's my list
The button could be sticking, I don't think it's a ROM issue or user error at this point. AFA CM7 not flashing correctly, are you flashing gapps after the ROM so that you have access to your Google account?
i might have forgotten to flash gapps. But if the button is sticking, can i take apart the phone to fix it?
You could certainly try, but you're own your own with that. I wouldn't even know where to begin. Nor would I even try, in all honesty. I would suggest following the unroot instructions in HERE and calling Verizon and telling them your power button is broken and you need a replacement sent out ASAP
I guess i'll call Verizon, thank you so much. I'll probably be posting a post later on this week for getting back to stock. For now, time to go do my weekends homework, lol.
