Help Android 2.3.3 stock for evo?

Hi guys I'm new here. I love android, but htc sense ui... Not so much. My first phone was the LG Optimus S with stock froyo loved it, miss it lol. Upgraded to Evo 4g loving it but do not like the htc sense ui. Is there any way to get the stock gingerbread 2.3 on the evo? I, kno there is, but do I have to root my phone? I dont know if I explained well. Any response will be quickly responded to if its about not understanding the question thanks in advance. Also to the mods if its necessary please remove and delete thee thread again I'm new, I don't know if its been resolved.

if you really want to get pure android on your phone then yes you have to be rooted. the only other way for non rooted phones is to just use another launcher like launcher pro, adw, or go launcher (my favorite).
