No, not really! :p

I just wanted to say THANK YOU! to all of the people who have put in so much hard work writing up all the guides here. And especially to all the devs here that have worked the V!

After being unsuccessful in completely flashing my MetroPCS Huawei M835 over to Cricket (Got talk and text done, but getting the Internet working proved a bit of a challenge.). I went and got this Optimus V yesterday.

Once I got home, I rooted with GingerBreak. Had to restart it once, but all went well. Installed Busybox, which took 2 tries because I chose the wrong install directory. After that, ROM Manager came next. Went well, but I had to find a fix for the blank recovery screen using the Xionia CWMA fix. Of course, I made a back up of the original ROM. Then, it was installing BACKside, GApps, GreenTheme, and the bootsound package. The BACKside install was flawless.

I attached a screenshot of my phone's home screen.

Now, this phone is just amazing to me. It does everything I want and then some, mainly because of BACKside.

I take that back. My phone is what it is now because of all the work you guys have done. Again, thanks so much! :D

Glad you got it all set up and it went smoothly enough for you!

Here's a little known feature of BACKside I haven't talked about much, thanks to BobZhome for building the cifs module with his kernel!

1- Download and install cifs manager from the market
2- On your windows PC, right click on a folder and choose settings>>sharing>>advanced then set it up with a share name like media for a folder with pics and vids and mp3s
3- Open cifs manager on your phone and create a new share, enter the ip address and share name
192.168.x.xxx/media

You can now browse your folder as if it were on your phone. Documents you have apps for like pdfs or media files will open on the phone almost instantly, rather than having to transfer to your phone first, then open the app and find the document on your sdcard. ;)

How did you install the Xionia CWMA recovery? I have the same problem with a newer Optimus V with blackscreen using Clockworkmod recovery.

Yup, those are the instructions I followed to fix the black screen issue. I used ADB instead of the Terminal Emulator because the text was too tiny.

Thanks for the tip! Hopefully I won't need the Terminal Emulator in the future, but if I do, I'll bear that in mind.

And even if, I use CLI Linux at work everyday, so using ADB instead just felt more natural to me! :)
