Root Flashed Mikg 2.57 with Chop Suey results (Pics)

Its been about 5 days and I still have horrible battery. The pictures was taken today buy I barely used my phone. Ive cleared both cache and calibrated by battery. Im looking for a kernel that I can use without draining my batter so quick. Yesterday, I was running a app from 6:30am thru 11am and had about 20% left.

As my battery was 100%, I would restart it and it would jump to 85%!!!!What is wrong with this. Every time I restart, there is a different #. Guy let me know if I should run a different kernel.

A couple things...

1) You have way too many SetCPU profiles set up. All you really need is one for screen off and then MAYBE one to clock it down when battery is low. If you set up too many, it can make SetCPU work too hard trying to figure out which profile needs to be in use.

2) I think your awake time seems reasonable that after 1.5 hours of use you'd have about a 25% drop, especially without an SBC kernel. Do you have any wakelocks? If you look at the graph in battery use, and see a lot of awake time when the screen is off, you could have a wakelock. Use this app to see if you have any.

3) Try calibrating your battery. There is an app in the market called Battery Calibration (or something similar) that can do it for you. Just follow the instructions.

4) Have you tried any other kernels? For Gingersense, I prefer Lithid's Freedom Kernel.

+1 to everything the mizzou said. having too many profiles in setcpu can be very counter productive. the app will not be sleeping as it is constantly montioring the phone according to your parameters. like mizzou said, screen off profile and underclocking your phone will save you battery life. also like it has been mentioned to try other kernels. always give a kernel a few days to settle in before moving on to the next kernel. you can try the freedom kernels or golden monkey for gingerbread sense roms.

Yeah I think some people had wakelock issues with 1.93, but I think the newest PRI has been pretty clean. I never had any issues on any PRI. But from what I understand, if you're not having wake issues (where your battery graph clearly shows awake time when it shouldn't) then I don't think a PRI fix will improve battery life, will it? I've never really understood what it did.

Also, I think most of the wakelock issues with 1.93 were dialer related. But I'm not 100% sure I remember that correctly.

Ok, then based on your awake time vs uptime listed in your pic, then it doesn't look like you have any wakelocks. I don't believe you need to touch your PRI.

When I downgraded mine I didn't have any wakelock issues. My battery was just being toasted, 4 hours tops.
I remember I flashed the destroyer Rom and BANG! My battery was eaten alive. I flashed back to Kings unleashed, no go. Once I downgraded my pri, back to good battery life.
I probably should try out the newest pri and see if my phone likes it.
I only recommend the downgrade as a last resort always.

What app did you have running for nearly 5 hours? Depending on the type of app that could be your problem right there.

Like others have mentioned I'd suggest giving the freedom line of kernels a try. This will let you use the smartass scaling which I have had great success with.

As for all the setCPU profiles.... I'd set an off profile of 128-422 and Maybe a battery low one to really underclock you if you want it. You shouldnt need more than the screen off profile though.

That's interesting, I've had good luck with 1.77 and higher on both of the Evo's I've had. My battery life is great on the 2.x PRI that I'm running right now though. I haven't seen much complaining about the newest one, the only one people ever seemed to have issues with was 1.93 or whatever the 1.9x PRI was.

Yeah the 1.9xx pri's gave me problems. 1.77 has been my saving grace.
