Help this is embarrassing, but i just got my first smart phone

and have no idea what this extra micro SD adapter is for.

i have read the instruction manual and its not sinking in.

do i remove the one in the LG optimus V and put this one in when i run out of room for loading apps?
 
Your phone came with a micro sd card but it's probably not huge. So you can buy a bigger one and switch them if you want to. Apps yes, but mine is mostly music :)

The adapter is so you can remove the micro sd card from your phone, place it in the adapter, and then place the adapter in (example) a laptop to view what is on the SD card. If you look closely at the adapter itself, you can see a small slit where your micro sd card will slide right in.

The adapter itself doesn't store anything. It only holds your micro sd card so it can fit into a bigger card slot. Hope that makes sense.

Your new avatar is kind of giving away you age isn't it.
I know. I was a teenager when they first came out. Back when FM radio was just starting to get popular and most everybody still listened to AM radio.

Bad Company came out in 1973... geeze, 40 something is not that old lol.

I have a serious love for music (except rap or opera *shudder*), so often times I will use an album cover for an avatar. Next week it'll be something different. Could be Tool or NiN. Never know with me lol. :p

Sheeesh, I had no idea the card was for apps OR music! I thought it was strictly for pictures! My first SmartPhone too and it's definitely smarter than I am. Now if I can only figure out how to get my speaker on when I make a call, lol................

Woo-Hoo! Thanks sooo much! It worked like a charm. Two victories in one day, this and Swype!!! I love it!
 
You would need to go into menu/settings/applications. Check the unknown sources box. Then download an app with an apk installer. This will work for everything but the Android Market which automatically downloads apps from there website onto your phone (it takes a while sometimes,but it works) .
