HTC Passion News/Discussion

Hi, no its not the legend, its the BRAVO uk version will have a small chin, CONFIRMED, now i know the usa hero is without a chin, unlike the uk, so im thinking usa version no chin, any thoughts?

Uk bravo release is april, do you guys know yet if the incredible is the usa version of the bravo?

Maybe the USA version will have a chin and they will promote it with the Crimson Chin Hero below :D

Dude...there have been photos taken of it recently that perfectly match up with the earlier droiddeveloper report...find your way to the HTC Incredible forum.

Don't you know that HTC designs and manufactures real phones that work just to throw people off ;) The HTC Incredible is just that :D

Curious if anyone else goes to the nexus one page to see if there are any changes to it.

i go there at least daily. obsess much?

yes, but luckily there are people that can help you with this problem. :)

does the confirmation of a chin on a phone make anyone excited? i mean really, c'mon. that would be cool if the "hidden" ram is included in the incredible, that would put it on par with the nexus one right?

So - is anyone 100% clear on the distinction between Incredible/Bravo/Passion? I've ignored Legend for now, as that's a chin-phone not a candybar.

My understanding is that Bravo = Passion (approx. = Nexus 1, minus trackball, +optical trackerpad), Bravo = EU/UK market, Passion = US market. Could the Incredible be a trimmed down version of the Bravo/Passion with a slower processor and smaller screen?

And I think I'm right in saying that the Supersonic is the Android flavoured version of the HD2/Leo?

I thought I'd ask, as practically any thread on the forum says something different...

^sounds pretty close to me. I wish manufacturers would get together with carriers and decide on names early on. then we could keep them straight.
what's the fun in that though, hay?

True, true.

My only other thought from piecing together information from all over the place is that the Incredible could be a particular-carrier only version of one of these phones, probably the Bravo/Passion.

I personally now, after months of being in here and participating and seeing news, believe that they are ALL different phones. Sure, a lot of the hardware is similar inside and they all (Bravo, Nexus One, Incredible) have the same processor, but they're all different cosmetically, which to me makes them completely different phones. I don't even see a resemblance. The Bravo looks like the Bravo, the Incredible looks like the Incredible and the Nexus One looks like the Nexus one.

As far as the "Passion" goes, it's pretty much been confirmed at this point that "Passion" was/is the codename for the Nexus One. So, that just leaves the Nexus One, Bravo and Incredible. All which have similar specs, but as far as form factor goes and some exterior hardware (optical trackpad, etc) they are simply all different phones now. We initially thought that the Incredible might be the U.S. variant of the Bravo, but now that we see pictures it looks NOTHING like the Bravo. We also thought that the mysterious "Passion" was going to be the U.S. version of the Bravo, but now it seems that Passion was just a codename for the Nexus One, which also looks nothing like the Bravo.

After the Incredible pictures came out, it became very clear to me that all of our "theories," which were fun and interesting sure, were just that...theories. HTC came out with three different phones in the end, and though some specs are the same and they are all probably the same screen size, 3.7" (which is becoming the "standard" in cell phones lately), they are all different models and really share no resemblance to each other when you take away the screen size and the processor and operating system. That is just my personal thoughts on the matter.

so to clarify, bravo, uk, passion is the us version of the bravo, what iv told people from day one,

Incredible comes along, and the supersonic, tell you what as certain people jump on here with my quotes, and think there right, how about finding the quote where i let people know (from the begining)that bravo and passion, are the same phone, but as you americans dont get the chin thing, that will be the only difference, quite like the hero.

The Bravo and Passion ARE NOT the same phone. The Passion is the codename for the Nexus One. Stop beating this one into the ground dude, you were wrong. The Passion is not the Bravo. No way, no how. The Bravo is the Bravo and the Passion is the Nexus One. End. Of. Story.

The Nexus One is the HTC Passion | AndroidGuys

Plus, there was originally a picture on Google's Nexus One website, when it launched, and the pictures' filename had the word "passion" in it. Everyone has already moved on from this. The Passion was simply the codename for the Nexus One.

News, I'm pretty sure the Passion is already here(U.S.) - it's the Nexus 1 from Google.

Can you PLEASE explain what you meant by hidden RAM?

Why would the US hero be different to the one elsewhere? Makes no sense at all. Same phone different name I get. Different phone with same name is just confusing.

Lots of things sold under the same name in different countries aren't the exact same product. Years (I mean YEARS) ago I had it pointed out to me that the Volkswagen Golfs sold in Germany weren't the same as the VW Golfs sold in the US. I wouldn't have known there was a difference since I was driving a Chevy in the US and I never looked at what German VWs looked like, but I had a cousin in Germany who wanted a Golf and said she was glad she would be getting a German Golf because she thought the US Golfs were kinda ugly :)

Chin, no chin - whatever. I just want to know when the phone I want is coming out.

Could this be what's in the bravo, facebook feature I was talking about before,

In addition to Android 2.1, the update will also include a new Friend Stream widget that enables you to keep up with social network, like Facebook or Twitter, and improve Microsoft Exchange support. Sounds like another great improvement for Android and another device to get the 2.1 update. Are our Hero friends out there excited?!?!? for Android and another device to get the 2.1 update. Are our Hero friends out there excited?!?

Not that I'm particularly fussed, and I do take your point, could it be that the newest version of the car hadn't been released in the US yet, but had in europe/germany, hence why they're different? You in the US were on the mk1 Golf, and we in Europe were on the mk2 or something?

My point was just that I'd find it strange for a company with no history of doing so to call different hardware by the same name in different locales. Especially if you look on XDA-developers under HTC Hero - there's only one phone, and no mention of it being different in the US...a Hero is a Hero! This is the first time I've EVER heard of HTC doing that... especially as they're not a US company themselves!

Making certain hardware not available in certain countries, fine. Calling the same hardware by codenames (Passion -> N1), fine. Calling the same hardware different things in different countries (tradenames in one country, not in another), fine. Taking the Hero name and applying it to 2 different bits of hardware in different locales - makes no sense.

Anyway, bit of a segue... I want my Bravo! (or maybe a Supersonic!) NEED to get rid of my Galaxy, as it's terrible. SO SLOW!!

This sounds like Google Buzz.

why do you keep calling the phone you have info on the Bravo? we have all already seen the leaked photos of the uk bravo and know it doesnt have a chin. and the passion was the n1 so could you please start to refer to your unicorn phone as something else? like the jay leno phone? i think you are getting alot of people confused with your made up specs and features
