Hi all, after my GT did this today, I googled and found numerous replies, all saying similar things as on here, but i did not accept that i need to set up a static ip for when home then dhcp when out.
after a few moments thinking about this, I decided that if its the GT trying to use the same dhcp IP its got in "memory", and conflicting with another device on the WLAN.. then I'll just change the range for dhcp in the router
Most routers start dhcp at x.x.x.100 ...
So I changed that to start at x.x.x.120
and amazing .. my GT connected to the WLAN 1st try
If you dont know how to change this then i suggest get a Geek (LOL) to come by .. or ring your IT/ISP support
I know this is prob a "bug" in the GT until they upgrade to gingerbread (oh i hope they fix this in GB...LOL) and if it does it again i'll be changing the dhcp begin addy again
(and again .. and again) .. lol
Good luck and enjoy

So it must be the Galaxy! I have reset, rebooted, rooted static ip'd, deleted dchp_list and reinstated it not all at the same time and not on both
- so it must be the modem /router!, nope I just got a new router! nope so not that so I now have a new router, two galaxies in different states left overnight in frustration
