"I HAVE MINE..." Thread...

Hey all... first post :)

Got my Evo3D a couple days ago and am enjoying the device... considering rooting it. Unsure of the pros/cons of doing so, however :|

Only gripe I have is, coming from a BlackBerry, the battery life on the Evo3D is less ideal that I was hoping for. As of today, am unable to get through the day without charging :( Should this be expected?

My reception is horrible. I'm constantly roaming. Don't get me wrong, I still love the phone. If I didn't love it, I would have went back to my Evo 4G that is collecting dust. But I am constantly roaming and my text messages often have the wrong time. Hopefully they fix it in an update, or some custom ROM fixes it.

do you think you are using the E3D more than you did the BB?

is it in your hand ..eating data....surfing... gaming.. photos.. youtube.. showing off to friends and active.. more often???

Pros: you have full control over your device. You can uninstall Spiderman & Green Hornet or anything else you want. You can flash custom ROMs.

Cons: voids warranty (unless you can return it to stock, and even then make sure it is a legitimate issue not caused by rooting). You can brick your phone, hard to do, but possible nevertheless.

Hello all, I got my Evo on August 12th and absolutely love it. Only one very minor complaint, no percentage numbers on the battery indicator. But I think if that's the best I can come up with then I really can't complain at all lol.

I had a white 16Gb iPhone 3GS prior to the Evo. I'm still learning my way around the Android OS but I have to admit it's pretty sweet. I love the total control over the phone compared to the iPhone. I was especially impressed with the Bluetooth contact transfer option, made things so much easier and faster.

Admittedly I haven't gone searching around yet but my buddy bought his the night before and 24hrs later he had a dead pixel, we think he just got a bad phone but has this been an issue with the EVO's?

So many new people getting 3VO's LOL! My friend went and looked at Sprint yesterday and was looking at the 3D. Her daughter wants an iphone and they also looked at Verizon but Sprint was cheaper and she's getting her and her son Sprint and her daughter has a mac computer and the Verizon guy told her iphone would be easier to use with her computer. I love my 3D more and more every day it's so cool. My friend has never had a smart phone before. I use all the cool apps Gas Buddy, and Google Nav not Sprints and I have Yelp and Where and use places. I love when I;m out of town and want to search for something near by.

Saturday, we went into Sprint to add a line on our plan for a good friend of ours who wanted my OG Evo 4G. I bought the Evo 3D(after looking and playing with the iphone mind you, I just dont like the look and feel of it at all!) While buying the 3D and getting the account all set up, my wife started looking at phones. I cringed when I saw her playing with the iphone 4S cuz I thought she was gonna want it and i'd have to get her one. She came up to me and said "I know which phone I want!" very excitedly, and I thought Oh no, here we go! But amazingly to my surprise, she says "I want the 3D!" I was so proud of her! LOL I told her since I was getting one, it was only fair for her to get one, so I told her that we would look on Craigslist for one for her rather then paying outright for it in the store. We found a great deal last night so I bought it for her. We now both are rockin Evo 3D's and Im braggin to all my friends that I have a rockin wife that prefers Android(who wouldnt ;) ) over the Iphone! Just thought it was worth sharing here.

PS, we both LOVE our 3D's!!

So, room for one more in here...?

Just got my 3D this evening. Still poking around, and setting everything up but so far - Wow, I'm impressed! :)

And the Pink Katana DLX before that and all the other Sanyos the 82 and 83 and 8400. Used to be Sanyo only for me back in the day. I got that 4900 with the colored screen and was like I won't do internet on my phone but for that extra 10 bucks and unlimited internet I got it. LOL! The EVO 3D Rocks and I recommend Android to everyone and then I try to tell them HTC all the way but I say as long as it Android your good. I still have my Lotus here somewhere.

Me too! I remember your perils with the purple Lotus ;)

I got my new 3D a couple of weeks ago. I had an EVO 4G, which I HATED!!!!! It kept screwing up, and Sprint was never able to figure it out. I finally told them to replace it, or I'm cancelling my contract. The store agreed to upgrade me, and gave me a choice of 3 phone, a Nexus, the Evo Shift, or the 3d. I went with the 3d and am much happier!!! It works so much better than the 4G, faster, and hasn't crashed yet...still wish I could upgrade to an iPhone, but that'll have to wait until I'm out of contract or I can find a good deal on one.

Welcome aboard! Who knows, maybe you will grow to love Android now that you have a phone you like and won't want the iPhone after all...just a thought! ;) Hope to see you around :)

Maybe, but we'll see. I actually like this phone a lot, especially compared to the Evo 4g!

I am an Apple guy a heart though, 3 Macs at home and an iPad, so I'll probably switch back at some point. My fiance is looking for a new phone, so I may give her mine and get the iPhone 4s then...If not, then I'll stick with the Evo 3D and be happy with it.

While the 4S is a decent enough device, this picture sums things up nicely!

True, but since I don't use flash on my Evo, or my iPad, and I don't miss it at all, that's a non factor for me. The IOS interface is better, in my opinion, and I like how it works. That, of course, is a personal opinion. I know many, many people who don't like Apple because of their restrictive policies, but I'm not one of them.

I don't want to get into a Apple vs Android thing. Both are good and have their strong points, and weak points. Some like both, some only one. As I said, I like the Evo 3d a lot, and if I keep it, that's fine with me, I can live with that. If I can change back to an iPhone, I know I'll like that more because that's my preference.

Wow, how can you not use flash? It's like 80% of the internet.

The other day a few friends and me were trying to manage our fantasy football rosters on our phones. One of my friends could not even sign into the nfl.com fantasy league site because it's all in flash. It was pretty funny.

To each their own I guess.

No worries, just a little funnin'. Everybody has preferences and none of them are wrong, personally I have nothing against Apple products that I don't have against anybody else's, I just don't like the company and it's practices.

Lol, as long as you keep it in the family! ;)

Hey, nothing wrong with making a choice and being happy with it. Apple's vertical integration ensures a consistent product. I am just glad there are so many options available for everyone. We are all different and that's what makes the world go 'round!
