Not sure if he is stirring the pot for attention or not.

I really hoped for a 17th or 21st release date though and the accessories leak today really got my excitement going for this phone.

C'mon Verizon - throw us a bone!

Galaxy Nexus Accessory List Shows Standard Battery of 1850mAh, HDMI Portrait-style Desktop Dock Priced at $59.99 – Droid Life: A Droid Community Blog

Sorry if it has already been posted. But it shows in top right corner standard 1850 battery which we already knew thnx to Steven and Lt but its always good to see it in writing. Also Im pretty sure the Windsock stated he had 1750 in his. So our battery life will be a lil better than what he is getting.

edit:Yep, a lil late to the party. Story of my life. smh

How did you root your old Android devices to get rid of the search capacitave/hardware button?

I didn't have to, simply didn't use the button (or the widget). But the button didn't take up screen real estate. If the search do-hickey is not removable, then it's taking up valuable space I'd like back. Why should anyone be forced to have a widget on screen? This isn't iOS, we should have the choice.

If they stuck it in the notification area, I'd feel a little better about it. Hopefully P3Droid is mistaken as some have mentioned. I don't want to slap a launcher on top of ICS just to have thematic freedom.

Edit: Dead topic, already covered. Never mind.

I don't understand why VZW would wait.

They are losing so many potential customers to the fact that they will just buy unlocked GSM models and stay with their current carrier instead of moving to VZW to get it...

I hear what you're saying, but are they really loosing that many customers? Everything VZW does is motivated by profit. Now that doesn't help us, but I'm pretty sure they're not delaying or not announcing the phone just to F with a bunch of fanboys and girls on the internet.

The Thunderbolt wasn't highly anticipated / flagship phone?

Wasn't it the first LTE phone on VZW?

Yea that case could be made but from what I remember the Thunderbolt was snubbed by most because it wasn't releasing with any promising features and everyone knew dual-core was around the corner in a couple months (hence the big wait for the Bionic - but the delay totally screwed up that device).

It certainly didn't have a pre-release crowd that could even come close to touching what we are seeing in this Galaxy Nexus forum in terms of user volume and chatter.

IF the rumor is true, and it sounds like a load of BS simply because it's coming from the Windsock's mouth (if BMX or Kellex had said it, it would be a different story), I would probably go with the um, HTC device, if I like it. I'll be going by to check it out after work today. Reports indicate that battery life is good, and it's got an HD screen which, by all accounts, is beautiful.

If we get no word on release date by Black Friday (I feel sick typing that; Black Friday, once so far off in the future, is now about a week and a half away), I may jump off with HTC at Best Buy and hope that the Nexus comes out within 30 days.

I'm sick of my OG Droid.

I'd probably get the Rezound too (if, once again, if, P3 is right, which he's almost surely not), but I'm disappointed by the fact that HTC again made a display with poor viewing angles and bad sunlight visibility. Those are the same problems my Touch Pro2 has...

Here's my personal fallout plan:

Release 11/17 - do a happy dance, get phone, commence not getting a lick of work done on 11/17 & 11/18, have pissed off friends at dinner on 11/19 because I like my phone more than them sometimes, family shakes head continuously over first 5 days.

Release 11/21 - probably still a bit hungover from drinking my sorrows away with too many Corona/Tequila at dinner on the 19th, do a very moderate happy dance, get phone, commence not getting any work done on 11/21, 11/22 and 11/23 (cause the 23rd usually is a slow day anyway), get in trouble with family for being anti social after thanksgiving dinner in favor of my new toy

If ICS is released on Nov 17th how long until a phone on Verizon has it? Could someone have ICS before us Nexians?! :(
When ICS releases it's only a matter of time before the ROM chefs and CM9 are released.

I am going to have ICS by the end of november one way or another, most likely. haha

But you have choices, right? I mean I don't know you personally obviously, but if you hate the a lot, and love them such a small amount, why not just go to a different carrier where maybe there will be more likes than dislikes?

I just don't see where all of those little things outweigh the major things like coverage, speeds, and customer support (from my experiences).

EDIT: Time for class, so all replies to me shall be on hold for 2 hours. Sorry!

Because it's the lesser of two evils for me at this point. AT&T has cheaper 4G coverage in my area, but they don't have a phone with an HD screen yet.

now claiming "no chance" of a Nov. release:

I love how the Windsock posts something and then all his little lemmings start chiming in with, "Yeah! I heard that too!"

I don't understand why VZW would wait.

They are losing so many potential customers to the fact that they will just buy unlocked GSM models and stay with their current carrier instead of moving to VZW to get it...

Many, if not most, will cringe at the thought of paying full price for a GSM variant, together with shipping costs, and not to mention that they will effectively have a 3G Nexus at such a ridiculous price, and Verizon knows that.

If the rumor is true, it's only because Verizon wants to force us to buy their bloated crap first. Which may end up happening in my case, if it does get delayed past November.

When's the last time Verizon launched 2 flagship phones (RAZR and Rezound) in one week?

I just came back from the Verizon store,No I didnt wear my Green Lantern shirt or knock on the door.Spoke to a different rep than usual.I was looking at the Rezound, really nice screen by the way.I told the rep I wanted to wait for the.....He cut me off and said Nexus. He told me to wait and get that phone, its coming out after BlackFriday. He also said that the cases and screen protectors are in and they are waiting on their training for that phone.

Great questions! I'd like to get my hands on ICS ASAP. While I know that it will come to the Rezound, then I've got some useless and/or redundant capacitive keys on the bottom of my screen (not that big of a deal, probably).

That won't be an issue on the Rezound or any of the other phones getting ICS updates. Following Google's instructions, the makers flip a build switch in ICS, the on-screen buttons go away and you still use the capacitive buttons per usual on phones that have them.

It's totally configurable by the ROM maker.

I wouldn't worry until we start hearing it from multiple sources. Everything we've heard so far is indicating towards a pre-December release. I really hope P3Droid is wrong in this case.

IF we can't remove it, maybe they have allowed for the normal 4 x 4 grid to still be available. But I would rather go with the other person (Kellex maybe? or Panda? Or are they the same person???) that said it was removable.

I don't think this is possible - I think that they can do it on AT&T or T-MO but I'm not as well versed in the network capabilities as the others around here are.

I'm sick of my OG Droid.

I was just thinking the same thing and looking at Rezound reviews. And I'm not gonna wait around til Black Fri for a glimmer of info if none has come by then. I'm not going to wait possibly another entire month for a G Nex, wonderful as it may be. Esp if battery life on the Rezound is truly night and day compared to a TBolt. I'd just have to get my ICS fix from the Transformer Prime or equivalent I'm getting in addition to the phone anyhow.

Hopefully, P3 is just wrong. But I have my limits.

I can just see it now...a ton of Rezound sales on the 18th, and a ton of rezound returns on Black Friday.

once Google releases the source code for ICS, we're still weeks away from other devices getting it (at least "officially"). of course, once dev'rs get their hands on the source code, they could start building ICS roms for other devices. so, technically, i guess other devices could get ICS before the Nexus.

and, just because the source is being released, that doesn't necessarily mean the Nexus is coming immediately after. there still could be issues with getting ICS to work properly with the Sammy hardware.

OK, the VZW sign up page for the Nexus went up on 10/26, I find it really hard to believe that they are going to place a sign up page 9 weeks prior to a phone coming out. Nine weeks is referring the phone not coming out until year end. How long do they usually put up a sign up page for a phone prior to release?

Tangibly speaking....is there a way to quantify either time wise or % the difference for us with a 1750 and an 1850 battery?

Not being a smart-alec, just straight up -

1850 will get you 6% more - but whether that means you'll make it on the ride home without a recharge on the one end or else have 26% vs. 20% battery left over after running all day is just something we'll have to see.

I'm optimistic we'll get something from Verizon either Tuesday or Thursday this week (hopefully Tuesday) regardless, especially after all the leaks we've seen so far. Here's to hoping either the 17th or 21st we can order this phone!!
