The order is all set, she is off tomorrow, so as soon as gets in Wednesday, she is gonna push the big red button and overnight me my new toy!!

HTC REZOUND!!!!!

The only thing that can derail this whole process is a firm Nexus release date coming before Noon EST on Wednesday - or, to put it another way: "Yep, I am getting a Rezound for sure!" :p

Of course, this does mean I will need to buy myself a new paperweight since the Bionic will be getting shipped back to VZW....... ;)

Uhhh ... you did get a great deal. That processor debuted in '79 as far as I know. Which means you were using it no too far thereafter.

I'm sure in 30 years, the OMAP4460 will cost pennies and will be considered archaic.
 
Also sounds like he is none to happy with the date. He is really pushing the test drive then return.... Even with the restock fee this probably hurts VZW bottom line:

Nope! Use and return it.. RT @WaltPartlo @black_man_x So, you are saying I shouldn't feel guilty "renting" a Rezound until it comes out?

That was before he realized that the return period for all Verizon devices was extended to January 9th. So no, he did not say it was coming December 27th.

ehh whatever:D all we got is random speculation at this point :) I also calculated 11/27 not 12/27 lol.
 
I actually tested a RAZR today at lunch. It is a sweet device, and no doubt about it. The UI was fast, smooth and responsive. And Blur wasn't nearly as bad as I imagined. The screen got a little warm but not too bad (I'm from Phx, so our definition of "hot" may note the same as the rest of ya...) The screen was quite nice. I have better than 20/20, and I couldn't notice any pixelation without really, really really straining.

In all seriousness, and much to my surprise, my only real gripe is that it seemed almost TOO thin. The width and height didn't bother me at all, and actually felt quite comfortable.

That could very well be my next device. And given VZW absolutely blowing this launch, the only thing that kept me from buying was that I wasn't blown away. It's an outstanding device, but just didn't below my doors off. I may still end up with it, but I now know that there's nothing out there that I have to have..
 
It must be nice being an Apple/iPhone follower. They announce the 4S and it was released 10 days later.

It has been almost a month since the Nexus was announced, and we STILL don't even have a release date.

Just the one. I refused replacements after I found that ALL my issues (and I had quite a few) were all on the list of known issues that was published by Moto/VZW.

I called VZW 2 times in 2 days and spoke with 2 different CSRs and 1 supervisor - no luck there. I called VZW and went to the cancellations department (twice) and had 2 different "retention specialists" basically tell me "Don't let the door hit you in the A-- on the way out".

I wrote a letter and sent it to VZW executive relations. After sending that letter, I decided to try the old "3rd times a charm" strategy, called VZW one last time, call got mis-routed and did not go to cancellations, but to a CSR named Diana who literally listened to my tale of woe, put me on hold for 90 seconds and came back with "How about if we pretend that you have had that Bionic for THIRTEEN DAYS and swap out the phone and all it's accessories for any other phone/matching accessories we have and you only pay the difference or get a credit?"

I was ready to just go back to the Charge when she told me about the Nexus. After a little online research while we were on the phone, I was sold and she said we could keep the swap offer open until the Nexus came out or I saw something else I liked (she DID try to get me go RAZR).

When I called her tonight to do the ReZound, she actually apologized for the long wait, she said that she and many other CSR really thought the Nexus would be out LONG before this....

Oh, and the Regional President/Executive Relations letter I sent? They called me the next day. Poor guy was ready to get yelled at and instead he had to endure 10 minutes of me telling him that in 10+ years as a VZW customer, Diana was by far the BEST CSR I had EVER dealt with. He didn't give me specifics, but he said he would be speaking with her supervisor personally and that her example is what VZW wants ALL their CSRs to be like!

Now......... Will I swap the ReZound for the Nexus when the Nexus finally shows up? Maybe. Diana did suggest waiting to process the order until Wednesday so I have until January instead of 14 days to think it over. I think that the more time I spend with the ReZound, the less likely I will be to send it back.......

Time will tell.......

And HEY!!! I will actually get some WORK done at WORK tomorrow!! ;)
 
We've had a good day bashing Verizon. It might be time for them to change their name and act like a NEW company. Perhaps, Vfinity. No that's too close to one already taken. I've got it, they can now be called GTE!

I was going to make a fake page and pretend I worked at Verizon and say that the Gnex was coming out on on 11/15.

I got lazy though. Because of that, the Galaxy Nexus is coming out tomorrow, believe me because I know a guy who knows this girl that once dated a guy who's dad bought a phone from a guy at Verizon.

That solves it....gonna use the rezound as a probation phone until a relatively bug free nexus is released. That doesn't sound good at all.

If this is serious I am going to pass on Nexus. I'm not about to end up with another "Blackberry Storm" debacle.

Everything BMX and P3 have said about the phone's performance haven't mentioned any problems or stability issues. I'm surprised that we are just now hearing of issues with this.
