Root [ROM] CTMod 3.80 (04/06/13)

So Ive only been up for about an hour since I got CTMod working and so far, it seems to be running a LOT faster than before, which is amazing. Still a few tweaks to work out, on my end ie: apps, but having 92MB to start off with in storage vs 45-50 before is just great. Love it Bloodawn, amazing work sir

/EDIT

So is it just me, or is anyone else noticing that after installing maps off market, the back/home button lag just a split second behind the vibrate? Minimal thing to worry about, but its driving me crazy for some reason lol. Might try uninstalling maps and see if it goes back to the way it was before maps. Only issue Ive come across, and its not even that bad!!!

OK Blood , I'm up and running :D !

Flashed the rooted version of GingerBread
Installed CWM
Flashed CTMOD W/ fixes
Installed App2SD !!

So far so good ! I like the minimal approach you took to this ROM and am looking forward to some of the jazzed up voodoo that you do on the next ROM !! As always my friend , GREAT WORK !!! :D

EDIT : OK , I've been playing with this now for several hours and I'm loving it more and more !! Smart move only adding the basic's , Blood !! Add what you want or need and forget the rest !! WOOOOO HOOOOO !!! It's like having a new phone except with the knowledge of months and months input from you GREAT people here in this Forum ! Thank you to ALL who have put your blood sweat and tears in to the evolution of this phone . I'm one happy Dude right now ! :-p

Thanks go out to all you devs on this one. works great!! only need to figure out if i can use the hard search button for something else.. thanks to all the devs BD on this MOD, CWM, and shabby for the OCR, Kouma for the kernel, and evryone that was involved but not named just now!!

btw quadrant's were pretty much 1050 to 1160 consistantly.
i went from 158 av to 350 av kbps down
and 75 to 145 kbps uploads for speeds
from stock to this setup

nice mod light n fast, pretty snappy too

@trialnerror: If you scroll up and read some of the previous threads I already asked this question silly. ;)

All you have to do is install QuickPic really or some gallery app. Then use the APP itself to set the wallpaper. Don't use the launchers built in ability as this won't work (well for me it never has lol). I used QuickPic and was able to setup my wallpaper with no fuss. Actually I really love the app... so much better then the default gallery app that came with stock.

Yep i read them .. I figured it out, i had to set permissions manually

I apologize for being to lazy to go back and read tbrough the entire thread, but what was the problem with email that requires a hotfix?

The bluetooth hotfix fixed that. Thanks for getting that so fast and I a amazed and preplexed about how you figured out that music.apk was the culprit!! Amazing.

I deleted the email.apk and installed gmail from the market since I have my work account forwarded to my gmail account and the app does a nice job for me.

Will deleting the email app cause me any problems and what was the problem in the first place and do I still need to run that hotfix for any reason?

Thanks for CTROM for GB. It is like having a new phone and I know you have only scratched the surface.

if your not using Email.apk you don't need the email fix, its fixes a problem with that app only. Gmail works fine

and nah you don't need the email.apk if your not using it

CTMod 2.0 is amazing, but I honestly liked 1.2 better. Maybe it's because I forgot to do a factory reset.

But the screen takes a bit to unlock after pressing the button (which annoys me because I unlock the screen about 100 times a day).
Everything else I didn't like I forgot because I don't have my phone with me right now, but I'll report back to you guys after I get my phone, factory reset, and everything.

ill probably put 2.1 out tonight or tomorrow, it should be faster then 2.0. 3G is alot faster too

Sitting on this thread hitting refresh over and over until I see 2.1.. Lol. Super excited for your new release Bloodawn, 2.0 has been great. Thanks for all your hard work

Great Mod. Love the black and white theme. I'm a big fan of minimalist desktops, and this Mod kinda reminds me of Crunchbang Linux.

One thing coming from using hroark's awesome CyanMod: the contact list was customizable to where you can opt out of having pictures for each contact, and a direct dial button on each contact. Any thoughts or suggestions on this?

Hahaha same here Tryingtoroot...Im doing the samething waiting on the release....:):)

Its funny I bought a ps3, and didnt play it but a couple of times. I bought a XBox360, played black ops for a couple of weeks. Then, I buy a Samsung Galaxy Prevail, and, I can't put the damn thing down. Sometimes I Odin to Stock because of boredom. I have received the daggum GB Update 3 times. And flashed it twice (Kouma's then Chin's) I have ran every rom available. I have played with every setting. And, still, I am here waiting for more. Gotta love it

Man your absolutely right...same here just enjoy tweaking and modding this thing out,Im Always looking for something to do this phone lol....

Verson 2.1
Fixed Bluetooth (had to add Music.apk back, if you don't use bluetooth and don't want the apk you can remove it)
Removed data throttle
Battery life should be a little better
Optimized 3G
Tweaked some stuff to improve performance
Updated Zeam to the newest version

Theres a patch if your on 2.0 and don't want to reflash the whole rom

Known Bugs:
Holding down Camera button force closes zeam
Boot animations still broken
Brightness widget doesn't do anything

I downloaded the patch and flashed it, but I dunno if that was the new ROM, because I am back to having none of my apps on it anymore, much less my settings.

It's cool. As many times as I Mod this device, I'm used to starting the process from scratch. I'm digging this Mod though. Great job.

No more refresh button. Thanks BD

Edit: it just keeps getting better. Using speedtest.net app I am getting 846kbs download speed with no bars indicating signal. Thanks again Bloodawn for your hard work, it is obviously paying off. Patch was very handy.

For some reason I can't get my SD card to mount the data and system, and I reformatted the SD card and tried over and over for a2sd to recognize it. This is after I flashed the latest ROM. Do I have to start all over from stock to ROM again?

this is an ext4 rom. you have to mount system and data in cwm before installing a2sd. i'll fix that.

Tried doing that several times, but it wouldn't mount both data and system, as I posted. It just kept going back to default. I flashed back to stock, partitioned the card once more, gonna create a backup, and then flash the ROM and Darktremor's app after. Hopefully this works.

Alright, I think I'm done with this s###. I can't get a2sd to move the dalvik cache to the ext partition (not enough ####### space) after formatting and re-partioning the card. It was fine until I flashed the ROM by mistake because of the link. I'm gonna try and start all over again, and if this doesn't work, think about getting a REAL smartphone like an iPhone, that just plain works.
