HTC Thunderbolt, meet the Rezound 1620mAh

Today I stopped by my local Verizon Corporate store to discuss some issues I've had with my T-Bolt. Mainly I've had an issue with data dropping randomly, especially while wirelessly tethering. They told me that it's a known issue, looked it up in the system, decided that a Sim swap was the appropriate thing to do...we'll see.
I decided to ask, as I waited on the sim swap, if the Rezound batteries were available. Turn's out they had 3 in stock! I picked on up and sure enough it fits in the T-Bolt without issue. Check out my pics below.
PS: I'm currently charging and calibrating the battery right now, I'll try to update with results. Given that it's a 15% increase in capacity I'd expect numbers to align somewhere along there.

I know some people have suggested buying the 1700's, but I like having an HTC battery that lives up to it's capacity ratings. I'm not saying that there aren't some good 1700's our there, heck I had a Seidio 1750 for my DInc that was better than the stock 1300. When compared to the HTC 1500's I couldn't tell the difference.

I hope this was helpful for someone and I hope this plus the sim swap will help me get through a day!

Yep, just thought it'd be helpful to post some pics so the good folks at home could see. Sometimes these batteries are a little big thicker. The HTC 1500 in the TP2 would fit in my DInc but I could barely get the back cover to snap closed. It would easily pop off from the extra pressure. My biggest point is that this is a great replacement that won't bulge out the back cover and screw up your LTE signal.

I didn't even really calibrate the battery but I noticed a vast improvement. I also bought the spare battery charger so it's nice to have that. I'm thinking I'm going to get the Rezound and I've heard that putting the Thunderbolt battery in the Rezound makes the Rezound scream.

I'll try to post my results, can't wait. The battery life has really been my only complaint with this phone. It's to be expected and I knew that going in.
I have the HTC Dock and use that for an external charger.

Do you find yourself needing to swap out the battery mid-day on the 1620 or can you make it through relatively ok?
 
8 hour day maybe, as long as I'm not doing a lot of 4G downloading.
 
How much was it? I do pretty good on some days, but if I'm using 4g mine drains quick.

Interesting, I probably got 8 hours on my 1400....some days. Other days I'd get 6-7 if I was tethering. I'm hoping for at least 12....plus our usage levels and sync setting could be enough to reflect this differnce..
It'll be interesting to find out.

In fairness, I was on the phone for about an hour with Verizon so that day probably wasn't the best for testing. Also, I don't want to use the battery too much in the Thunderbolt because I'm actually waiting to see if I want the Rezound so I can use it for its intended purpose.
 
Just as a side note...putting the Bolt battery in the Rezound, results in a little exclamation mark on the battery in the status bar...so, looks like only a one-way ticket :P (not that I would advocate putting a SMALLER battery in the Rezound, of course). But if you have someone that got one, and you try to sneakily switch batteries, they'll likely notice it :)

How did you verify this?
 
Here are a couple of shots at 6:30pm when I got home. I was at 42%, came off the charger at 8am. I was in the woods from 1:30pm till around 6:15pm. This was all 3g, except at home I was on our network extender (1x) and on WiFi. I was actually surprised that I made it home with this much battery. I'm used to having it die on me much sooner. I actually had a spare battery with me in case, but never needed it :D

Here are the screen caps, remember Monday will be the true test for my normal daily usage.

FYI, I've only had 20 minutes worth of phone calls so I don't think that the 21% Voice is accurate. Most of the voice calls were earlier in the day. I did have one 4 minute phone call in the woods. I've normally seen 1% capacity loss for every 4 minutes on a call.
 
I am having an issue, looking to see if anyone can confirm it and/or help me fix it. When I charge to 100% the battery display never drops. I have to reboot to see how much battery life I have left. have already wiped battery stats at full charge, cleared cache and dalvik. I have gone as far as wiping and reloading bamf 1.0.9. any input?

Try the battery calibration app on the market. The battery readings were all messed up when I did this on my first charge. Now all is normal.
