HTC Thunderbolt, meet the Rezound 1620mAh

You can just delete the batt stats file if you are rooted.

I am at a little over 24 hours right now with 31% left. ICS V2 MIUI included imo kernel. Maybe 3 hours of 4G and screen on max brightness. Running speedtweak extreme 1.4, smartass 2, edited initd voltage for 245 to 750 mV. I am pretty happy.

For us non rooted users will the battery stats reset after using the new battery for a while? I assume if I bought the extended HTC battery for the Thunderbolt it would do that on its own?

I don't think the battery stats ever wipe automatically. Over time they should get better but as the phone adds to the stats with info on the new battery (if that makes any sense)

Anybody know if these are still on sale for $20?

Just got one at a Verizon store for $20. The guy wanted to make sure it would work before selling it to me. Gives one a good feeling to know more than the salesperson knows lol

"This one says rezound you don't got rezound...Why you want buy this??"

Really why would the salesman care if it would work?

this store seems to care about customers. He was impressed that the battery would work. Sometimes people do care about helping people .

I want to go to your VZW store, the only ones around me are about trying to get people to buy the iPhone. When I bought the bolt they actually asked me "Now you do know this isn't an iPhone right?"

Oh I wouldn't say they wasn't pushing the iPhone. Saw one guy say the i4s was faster than the razor and rezound.

Now that sounds more like my local VZW stores. Once I was asking a guy at VZW about my old D2G and OTA updates. He told me something along the lines of "It will get an OTA to Yogurt at somepoint but if you get roots on the phone don't delete any app or you won't get the update" at that point I decided to leave as I could get better advise on an iOS forum.

Guess I must be lucky, the manager at my local store knows her stuff. I've tried to talk her into rooting her inc2 but she's a little nervous about it.

Getting closer each time I stop in though.. Plus she's smokin hot which makes my experience that much better.

Spose I should add something on topic here too since I finally got my Rezound battery in the mail today. I wiped stats, started charging, noticed it was charging slowly, got up to 70%, then jumped to 100%. I wiped stats again, rebooted until it fell to 99%, charged to full, wiped again, and it's been sitting at 100% for over an hour and a half with almost continuous use and the voltage hasn't moved.

Kinda curious how this is gonna go once it starts dropping and I discharge it till it turns off, then charge fully again.

Mine did the exact same thing! Very curious also

Well first charge took about 3 hrs. Then it went almost 14 hrs on the charge and that was with some heavy use of tethering and surfing the web and texting. then the second charge it took about 2 hrs. So I think my battery is doing fine.

Plus the rezound battery dont get super hot like the stock bolt battery did when charging. Its just warm to the touch and thats with tethering enabled. I am setting at 32 C where if it was my bolt battery it would be 41 to 43.

What may be a really dumb question... I just installed the new Rezound battery in my T-bolt and started the charge. Will the old T-bolt battery maintain its charge while out of the phone? Hoping I can keep it in the backpack as an emergency battery should I run low on the new battery.

I also have a New Trent external battery poer pack that I can also use to bump charge the phone in emergencies, but hoping carrying the extra battery also extends my use.

Yes it will keep the charge. Many people uses two batteries method if they have no way to plug it in

Just picked mine up today, still on sale, 50% off... 19.99 out the door for me :) Love no tax NH!

Gonna charge it up overnight, wipe the stats and see how she does, can't wait!

I'm on my first charge cycle with the Red battery. First charge took a LONG time (4 hours) and I haven't seen any real life improvement (36 hours for me typically in a 4G area) with mininal/no auto synching. Sure hope subsequent charges improve. Is this what others see?

Are you stock or rooted?

You're probably not going to see a huge difference if you were getting 36hrs on the standard battery. The Rezound battery only has about 15% more capacity and with such limited use it may not matter.

It will probably take a few cycles for your phone to re-write the battery stats and maybe then you'll see a small increase.

Stock but the charge time seems really long now. Shouldn't it be 15 % longer at most?

Update: I see something now....on mine at least it went from 72% to 100% seemingly instantly. Not sure if this will change over time or if this is due to the circuitry of what the phone is looking for. Comments?

Mine did that first charge as well. After wiping stats and cycling a couple times it charges normal, still slow, but no huge jumps.

I've noticed some improvement with the Rezound battery. It stays longer at 100%, then moves downward after a couple hours (when I'm not using it, of course). This may be more of a battery reporting error than a benefit, though I did wipe the battery stats and I still have that effect. I still get through a day of usage as before, perhaps with 10% more than I previously did. I can't tell really if they increased capacity is what is making the battery last longer, or if it is just because I got a new battery. It's a nice second battery, to be sure, but I don't know if I would pay $40 for it. $20 is a lot better.
