new to this forum! need some advice

i just bought a blackberry 9930 at the beginning of the month and my return date is coming up for if i want to return the phone. i only bought it to try something different in the meantime.
here's my dilemma:
i need to ship it back today (end of 14day return)
OR
keep it and can only exchange the phone per their 30-day return policy.

if i don't return it today, i have to be DEFINITE that the galaxy nexus will come out before november 27th, or else i'm stuck with a bb 9930 or exchanging for a rezound/razr.

what would you do? return now and just buy the galaxy nexus when it comes out BUT have to wait 1-2 days for my upgrade reversal to take into effect and 5-7 days for my money to refund
OR
keep the phone today and bank on the galaxy nexus releasing before the end of the month to exchange it.

I don't lock my phone so it doesn't really matter to me. It will be fun to play with though.

I liked Rob's assessment of this in his Phandroid review of the feature - it's just another convenience, not meant as a secure method.

I typically leave my security lock off, I just don't have the time, tbh.

Then again, I have a 3D phone and I like it. :)

Although I'm still gonna wait for Hans to take that video of onlookers when he does his 'butt unlock' in public :p

Back when we had expectations of a November 17 release date, I recall all the discussion of Han's court date and how he could get to court and get his Nexus, too. Seems a long time ago . . . .

I won't requote my entire summary, but I left something out of my summary of my visit. FWIW, the rep said that Verizon Wireless has a 90-day exclusive on Ice Cream Sandwich. Take that with as much salt as you like.

The show at Allstate on the 15th got very good reviews. He didn't start until 11:15, shocker. I just couldn't see buying tickets on the off chance that it was going to be the one good performance out of every 10 he does. Saw them with Skid Row in '91. Spectacular. Of course I was only 21, tickets were only $25 and I had much lower expectations....

Anyway, good call on the song.

Good God return that thing, you will be MUCH happier with the Nexus.
 
I bought a Razr a few days ago...I love it, decided to keep it right away. But I realize the Nexus is certainly a better phone. The Razr is thin, but the battery is 100 maH less than the nexus. The screen is smaller, less resolution, and the bezel is pretty thick. If the Nexus comes out next week I'll be throwing down the $35 restocking fee and upgrading. If not, I'm happy with what I've got.

I think it's fine to ask, I asked myself last night when calling on an unrelated issue. But I don't think it's right to get upset when the employee doesn't provide information which is not yet available to the public. Even if the employee does know, I'm sure they are bound by a NDA, and as such they'd be risking their job to even tell you. Especially in a call center environment, when anyone may be listening to any one of your calls.

Lol. I only like having the VZW little slash on there because it's easy recognition for other VZW inmates to know we share some angst and can text on the same network.

Since we don't have it from the horse's mouth (that being Verizon) I don't think anyone can say DEFINITE anything. I'd bank on the 99% probability factor of next week though.

Absolutely return it! with VZW in the picture, there's no telling what could happen. They've yet to announce a release date. Wouldn't bank on anything yet. A lot of great leaks and sources that have pointed to next week, but that could change behind the scenes when a single issue arises.
 
Has there been any word on the antenna regarding 3g and cell reception? I was able to try out a friend's rezound and the antenna is crap compared to my og droid. I live in a little dead zone, but my droid can get a signal if I stand in the right place and hubbie's bionic gets a strong signal without jumping through hoops.

A store rep said Samsung is known for sub par reception,but he might have just been steering me away from the sgn.

Help, I don'tknow the first thing about lookingfor antenna info. Anyone seen anything in a review?

Would love info about volume too. I constantly use my droid as a podcast and book on tape player. I was shocked that the rezound was meh for speaker volume. The assumption that it would blast the sound was a main reason I was tempted by it.

i had full intention of returning/exchanging it for the galaxy nexus when i bought it. but would you gamble to see that SGN will be released this month and NOT pushed back to december? b/c if it DOES, then i'm stuck with this or exchanging for a rezound/razr because my 14-day return period ends TODAY...
