***Official Galaxy Nexus Pre-Release speculation thread**

Someone at Google went into their site and clicked the edit button. Either the original 16/32GB spec or the now 16GB only is a mistake. Our problem is we have no way of knowing which is the mistake at this point. :(

Going on the theory that Google knows how to manage web pages - please note that if instead of google.com/nexus you go to google.co.uk/nexus you'll find the UK page still shows 16/32.

I still think there was no mistake - I think the change was driven by Verizon and accepted by Google.

Of course, not that it's making me all twitchy or anything but at this point, any info change on the Gnex is accompanied by me looking for snakes under the bed and monsters in the closet.

Steven, I don't want to sound like an ass. But, can you stop changing the thread title release date to dates that are "rumored". I think you should have the thread title release date as "now or until 12/31". In the OP, you should have rumored dates with links to the source of the rumor. That way, we don't have to sift through 100s of pages of BS. Most importantly, we can also make a determination ourselves. The way the thread title is, right now, many people will incorrectly believe that 12/8 is the actual release date.

I agree. It's very misleading and totally inaccurate; until you can get a reasonably reliable, legitimate date don't just go updating the title to whatever comes across...

Honestly, EarlyMon's conspiracy theory aside, it's likely way too late in the game to change the specs on the phone to 16 gb. That'd be a lot of product someone would have to eat or change. If we were back in say.. September.. maybe. It'd definitely take longer than the time to get us to the rumored December 8th date between remanufacturing, loading the phones with software, shipping and distribution to retail locations. Not to mention changing all of the Verizon posters we saw earlier to reflect the change.. Verizon would be cutting it's nose off to spite it's face.

You're probably right. So, given that insiders and testers have steadily indicated 32 GB for VZW - what happened?

Is it possible that Google is egging us on for more advertising????

Yep. Untill Verizon releases it. It is just all rumors. We will know the real deal and spec only when Vreizon lets us know upon release.

Now that I stop and think about it this way I realize how pointless this whole thread actually is. It's fun to speculate and all, but in the end Verizon will announce something, we'll all go out and get our GNexi, and that will be the end of it, many hours of lurking gone to waste :/

What if Verizon saw the huge interest in the phone and decided they want to sell their 16gb versions only right out the gate for $300, and save the 32gb for later and then price the 32gb at 299, and the 16gb at 250 later on. But they really just want to milk us.

Would that deter anyone from buying the GNex or staying with Verizon?

Not all to waste. I've definitely laughed a lot. And made new friends.

The consensus has been to change the title when we have more than one source with a date.

So the two sources include the picture of a picture of a screen that could very well have been faked and another picture of the same possibly faked screen?

Sorry if I'm being way too skeptical and doubting of the 12/8 document thing, but it just seems way off and there's nothing stopping someone from making a Word document that looks like that. I just feel that, like vandyman said, nothing is certain until Verizon announces it and that's that.

Actually, earlier in the day the UK page only showed 16 while the US page was 16/32...

If I put your idea and Khatmandu's idea together, maybe there's some issue about carrier differentiation and how to do the specs at this point for the USA.

Or something else, dunno.
They have to be backwards. US=16/32 and UK=16.
If the US is only gone to be 16GB, I would only pay $199 subed.

Yes, I agree. If someone could create a thread with rumor dates and sources on one freakin page, that would make it less time-consuming to get updated. Time is such a valuable thing to waste. I guess I'll just limit myself to "google searching" for the offical release date (10 seconds of my time a day). :D

I agree ( the snakes and monsters part). Stock has been shipped at this point....wasn't the version that went through FCC the 32 Gig version anyway???

This combined with miscalculation of demand share for these three new LTE Androids could be our answer. Might have ordered both for release, but decided to do this and order mostly 16gb for second delivery while holding 32gb from initial order until demand lessens and you can do the 32gb intro and 16gb price drop.

The 12/8 date makes sense because it would follow with what we've heard about canada. (Although in canada they aren't getting the lte version off the bat). Either way, this has been frustrating all around.

I don't know how much more I can take, Setting here late every night watching this thread. My wife's complaining how much more I'm smoking, and she can't get to the computer. Maybe thats why she's sleeping on the couch tonight.

Did notice another change looking over the page now.. the 1 GB ram wasn't there earlier.. just the 16/32 gb storage. Possible when adding that they mixed up the UK and US versions of the phone, plus none of the UK vendors are selling a 32 gb version that I can see using the 'buy now' button.
