***Official Galaxy Nexus Pre-Release speculation thread**

Just read up on the Rezound section in AF for a while. Everyone seems really, really happy with the phone (best phone that they've ever owned). Several that planned to "rent a Rezound" until the Gnex came out said that they would never give up their Rezounds now.

I'm going to give it a few more days. We'll see what happens with the 16gb deal on Google's site. That is the deal breaker for me. As soon as that spec is confirmed, I'm a new Rezound owner.

As soon as Sprint or ATT have LTE service as good as VZW... I can't wait to tell them where to shove it. The lack of communication/antics on this phone is horrible. You can be sure that Google will never trust them with a Nexus again, let alone an exclusive.

FYI - The RAZR and Rezound boards really hate the way that we bash their phones. They call us Nexus Fan Boys that act like 13 year old boys. Sadly, I am guilty of that as well; they are probably right.

The HTC device is a very solid choice. The screen is amazing. I'll probably still stick with the SGN even if it comes out in December with only 16GB, but I can't blame you if you go with the HTC. It's really, really nice.

I just got word from a great source that there is going to be a pre-order at midnight!

Not funny.

Sorry for the delay Han...was watching the UFC fight. Here they are from Amazon...quick reads.

Heir to the Empire (Star Wars: The Thrawn Trilogy, Vol. 1) by Timothy Zahn Mass Market Paperback $7.99
Dark Force Rising (Star Wars: The Thrawn Trilogy, Book 2) by Timothy Zahn Mass Market Paperback $7.99
The Last Command (Star Wars: The Thrawn Trilogy, Vol. 3) by Timothy Zahn

Thanks djcs. I just ordered the epub version of the first one from Amazon. I'll probably start it tomorrow!

I am mad that they put the live action tv series on hold for now :mad:

Me too! Clone Wars gets great reviews, and I've never seen one, but the screen caps look like the animation is seriously crappy. Is it?

Also, a live action tv series would be really, really expensive to make. Don't know if you've seen Terra Nova; it's a good show, is throwing a bunch of money at special effects, but the dinosaurs still look like crap for the most part. :(

Hey guys, just posting to let you all know that I'm taking a break (or possibly leaving this thread entirely) for quite a while, it's become all-consuming and I've grown tired of reading through all these posts with no news. When the news breaks I will be back, and I'll check the title of the thread periodically for any updates, but until then cya guys! It was fun interacting with members in this thread :D

Check back in soon had a blast take care!

But now Google has changed it twice in the last 2 days? Once they flip flopped the specs and now they made them both 16GB???

Yes. Some theories are:

  1. Google's webmaster is on drugs and US at least will be 32GB
  2. They'll be 16GB only due to component shortages
  3. They'll be 16GB initially w/32GB to follow
  4. US generally will be 16GB, but VZW has an exclusive on 32GB

Never watched the Clone Wars series, I DVR'd a bunch of them and my DVR broke before I could watch. The animation reminds me of all the other Cartoon Network shows.

Cost is the reason they put it on hold. I saw the first few episode of Terra Nova, was alright. I kinda like the cheesy special effects.

True. Just like in any profession, there are good people and bad. Let's not lump all Verizon CSRs as bad.

Seriously. My sister worked in a VZ call center as a csr for a while and you can't imagine how ridiculous some of the people are they get calling in.

I still question this because later in the article they say "apparently the SGN is already available in the UK"

How does that statement make you question it? Not that we all shouldn't question everything we read at this stage...

This article is somewhat encouraging, they go on to say that they have an inside source that says it is still on schedule and will be available this month...

Galaxy Nexus (Prime) Verizon release date on December 8? | Mobile Technology News at PopHerald.com

Nice find!

If you guys remember, Popherald was the first to break the Verizon official announcement of the SGN. No one else picked up on the story until the announcement was put up on VZW's website about a half hour later.

Oh I question everything regarding this phone. Any glimmer of hope for a sooner rather than later release, for me, is pleasing.

I wasn't aware of that! That's good news.

1 = maybe
2 = Doesn't seem likely
3 = Doesn't seem likely
4 = Maybe... but other than Sprint (in the future)... who else would be CDMA LTE

And I guess the #5 is that the production model simply ended up being 16gb for whatever reason/s

And I guess other than Verizon or Samsung officially releasing something on it, we won't know... right?

why would they say "apparently" like they can't find that anywhere on any tech blog on the net?

The Popherald writers aren't the best with grammar and word selection. I almost stopped reading them altogether because it would drive me insane. But when they leaked the Verizon SGN announcement before anyone else, they got back into my good graces.

I wouldn't put too much stock in the "apparently" thing.
