Those that were hating CK (CerealKiller), carefull. He is about as high up the food chain on several android sites (DF is one I know of) and I wouldn't doubt it if he were made a mod (or more) here as well, so if you get on his wrong side he will soon have the ban hammer here as well.

We don't care for anyone hating on anyone.

And around here, no one mods for personal reasons.

No one.

Our system of cross checks on mod actions guarantees it.

Well, tomorrow is the big day. No announcement tomorrow...no release Monday....it is coming down to the final minute.

Whoa, no posts in 25min? Guess everyone is sleeping (wish I was still...).
Anyway, wondering if Verizon would have the balls to nix any sort of pre advertizing for the Nexus before launch? Still hoping tomorrow is the day.

And, if anyone is bored, you can head over here:

Click on the little Andy in the bottom left corner and he does a few tricks. Saw this on Engadget.

Anything is possible with Verizon. Since the ones who already know they want SGN is probably a small group, and since VZW may not really want people flocking to an unlockable and bloatware free phone,
it could be a quiet launch. We can still hope, can't we?

I hope, I still want to believe Matias Duarte when he said "you will be able to purchase it in November." Maybe your right we will see of course.

Went to Verizon and Costco yesterday. The lady at VZW said it would be soon and they are starting to get in accessories (like we didn't know) she also said I would probably know more than her because VZW doesn't tell the employees release dates so they can focus on the phones that they are currently selling. I asked her about the return policy she said 14 days and get this i asked if I i didnt like the RAZR If i could exchange for Rezound and she said I only get one. I didnt know what that meant but it didnt sound right. Oh well she was kind of snyde about it anyway.

On to Costco I asked about the GNEX and told the guy ive heard of a release days. He seemed like someone to follow on a forum because hes heard anywhere from 11-17 to 12-8. I asked about the return policy at Costco and after 14 days you can exchange your phone for any reason and either get a brand new out of box same phone or a new phone. Im really thinking about waiting for the Costco Gnex to come out plus their customer service is top notch and the employees seem to know what they are talking about (at least the one I spoke with)

Not any new info just pretty much reiterating over the last 800 so pages

I'm still trying to figure out why many here show more love toward the Rezound than the Razr. It seems most reviews I've read actually favor the Razr over the Rezound. .

I know opinions differ on the screen, but to my eyes the Razr screen just seems to have more impact. The Rezound screen, although of high resolution, just seemed a bit washed out by comparison.

So with the Razr's great call quality, reception and promise of ICS, why so little love here for the Razr? It's almost seems as if some have a bit of a grudge against the Razr.

Mornin! A foggy day in GA (foggy head too!), but it is Sunday! Kind of like Friday for most people, for me :)

This could be an interesting day could it really happen at midnight....some kind of silent launch thingy pre-order deal-a-ma-bob why not. I don't put anything past this launch!

Could be the simple fact that a lot of Rezound likers are either Sense lovers or haven't had an HTC device before. I also think some hate is hitting the RAZR for the wildly held belief here that Moto is having something to do with the GN....

I've had an HTC device for sooo long so I favor the razr. HTC and their UI is dated looking. It's still the nicest smoothest oem UI though imo.

I handled the RAZR and REZOUND yesterday at a BJ's Verizon Kiosk.

1) The big thing for me is I like small bezels. My dream phone would be an all glass front where 95%+ was screen with almost no bezel. The RAZR is wider than than the rezound so the side bezels are noticeably bigger.
2) Also the screen is not 16:9 on the RAZR where it is on the REZOUND so once again the REZOUND Looks better when looking at the screen b/c it seems a larger %age of the face is screen. I could be wrong on that, but that's how my eye perceived it.
3) This might sound wrong, but I didn't like how thin the RAZR was. I have ZERO concerns about the thickness of the REZOUND. Compared to my Droid X it is not thick at all and in fact with the curved back it feels smaller than my DX even though it isn't.

In the end I feel like Motorola made a visually less appealing phone from the screen side to make it extremely thin. Considering I look at the phone front and not the side 99% of the time, I'd rather phone designers focus on achieving bezel-less desing than thin-ness since you probably can't have both with current tech.

After handling both I left thinking that if I knew nothing about the GNEX I would have bought the REZOUND and been very happy. I'm actually hoping the GNEX release results in a REZOUND price drop so I'll have something to consider. HTC seems like they made a great phone that would sell gang-busters had it not been released so closely with 2 other super phones. If I were Verizon I actually would have delayed the HTC and not the GNEX. While not true you can play up the 1.5 dual core as the best in the lineup and sell it as your premier phone to the masses.

My last comment for anyone that thinks the REZOUND is thick. If that is your concern, go see it first. If your only concern is thickness you will be pleasantly surprised. To me it is hands down the more desirable phone when compared to the RAZR.

Anyone have Quadrant scores from both?

better phone in my eyes. Better screen, better battery options, better Ui, better size, better feel, it just seemed to me like a better phone. I have no grudge, in fact I have a bias in favor of the Razr. "FOR ME" it was a better choice for now. I want to see the Gnex as most recent buyers do. I am still concerned about having to carry a spare battery or using the extended battery which does really change the form of the unit. No matter how you slice it, the Rezound is an exceptional piece of hardware. Probably the best ever made up to this date. We will see.

Morning all! I'm not sure I'm actually getting out of bed yet but woke up and, as usual, had my phone in my hand ready to catch up before my eyes opened. I don't know what today will bring from Verizon (most likely silence) but my parent's Dept 56 Christmas village is getting set up so it will provide some distraction from the quest for info.

on another note. this phone needs to come out soon for all of our sakes. the past 24 hours ive encountered two or DB errors. then we had Rob come in and lay the smackdown on us, THEN lock our forum for an hour lmao. and just now got another error. we are making a mess on this poor guys website..

It was one of those days. And the server was actually just upgraded recently

It handled the incredible thread just fine...;)

The mega thread yes. The one regarding order date vs ship date saw quite a few db errors and may have helped contribute to the site being down for more than an hour once. I remember because I was having withdrawal symptoms.

Although gimmicky I also like that the REZOUND comes with a nice set of ear buds. My DX became an ipod replacement so a nice pair of head phones is always a plus as I will use them.

It's 7am on a Sunday. I should be sleeping. Instead I'm on here hoping there is breaking news saying it is available tomorrow.

And.

No news. :(

I've said before that I refuse to get the Thunderbolt 2. It isn't worth renting or anywhere near keeping a year a more. I will continue to wait for the Nexus.

I remember seeing a tweet from the panda king saying something about verizons apps and their games. Was he suggesting that they managed to get more than the My Verizon and Back-Up on the phone? Or just complaining about Verizon in general?

Geeeeezzzzz Louizzzzzeeeeeee..............

Just got up. Away from the forum for all of yesterday afternoon and evening..........over 1000 posts not read!!!

End result of looking through ????

New info = 0
New Release date = 0
Anything worthwhile reading about the PHONE (IMO) = 0

This forum is out of control IMO lol................everyone have fun (seriously). I for one MUST move on.................most likely will get the Nexus when it comes out but this is just too much for me at least.

One guys opinion only, All posters and lurkers are awesome :):)

I hope Panda was just alluding to the fact that VZW is playing games with it's customers and their phones, and was NOT implying they were still trying to add more junk to a Nexus phone. I can deal with their two apps, and will probably remove both of them. But I do understand why they want their own backup assistant installed, for all their many non-geeky customers who know little about a phone and have all their contacts backup up with Verizon and not via Gmail. Some of those will buy this phone, so to make their "experience" a little better, so what? I'll just remove this app from mine.

Now as long as I can get the updates to my Nexus just as soon as Google has something for me, I'm good. As long as they don't do something stupid to make those updates harder for me to get...

Good Morning (potential) Gnexers! :D

Every day that goes by 2 milestones are hit:

  • We are closer and closer to the real Nexus Launch Day; and
  • We are closer and closer to 48,000 posts: a VITAL number to hit!

Even IF we don't see Nexus until 12/8 (I think it will be sooner), time will fly. Thanksgiving week is upon us, time to cook & eat, Black Friday is almost here, and I'm personally starting to order in the new entertainment center equipment. By the time it all gets here, assembled and turned on, I'll only have a few mere days more to wait...

...And hope VZW doesn't push the date back again

BOTTOM LINE: This week eat turkey. Buy presents this weekend and Cyber Monday. Watch football till your head spins if that's your thing. Next week box & wrap the presents as they arrive. Consume leftover turkey in creative ways.

Nexus will be here before we know it - and we still have a shot at beating out the DInc thread as the single most epic thread in all of Android Forums history!

The long, slow wait is over and the short, fast wait is here! :)

We've got the dept. 56 Christmas village too. We have to put it up high so my kids can't get at it...lol
Putting it up is always fun. Have a good time.

Edit: oops. Guess I messed that quote up..

That's how I'm looking at it, too. Even if we're looking at December 8, it's not that long. I looked at my calendar yesterday and its just a small, tiny jump down the page. No biggie.

Someone asked me somewhere back about having the Dinc2 as a loaner... I talked to a VP about switching to AT&T because of no news on SGN release date, and he offered to send me a Dinc2 while I wait, in order to replace my dying OG Droid.

Oh, and good morning everyone! Probably won't be on as much. Sundays are always big family days (and Chicago Bear Day).

Ciao

Ugh, that is terrible! I could wait another week for release if it meant not having that issue. That would be really annoying.

Not sure if this has been posted yet i.e. the video. It could be the cause of the delay? I believe they some said it is a software problem, but it looks like a hardware issue. Tell me your thoughts

It has been reported in another thread in the forum:

http://androidforums.com/samsung-galaxy-nexus/448010-strange-volume-problem.html

Hope it's a software issue and not hardware. I REALLY hope. That's a show-stopper right there... just like buying a gift-wrapped Lexus that won't get out of 1st gear.

Let's hope THAT'S the delay... they have GOT to get this fixed or there will be a flood of returns in the first week.
