In this thread, here's how it goes: Early Morning is Optimism for what the day will bring, Late morning and early Afternoon is Anxiously waiting for any good news, early evening is when depression sets in because no news was released, then late evening is acceptance of the crappy rumors and a slow climb back to optimism the following morning.

Rinse, repeat.

Oddly enough, I'm connected a great deal of the time. At my full time job I quite literally have my Music player on all day, streaming from GMusic. So those of you who were wondering/speculating about streaming music from the cloud because of the missing SD card, take that into consideration. I do not use the browser as much as I used to because its just so painful on this fledgling phone. I am on G+ quite a bit though through out the day. I'm not entirely sure about the background process that are syncing. I know I cut fBook and twitter off from pulling data in the background. Basically, I consider myself a moderate to heavy data user, so that number up there really surprised me.

Wow! Your numbers are higher than mine. I barely hit 100 minutes total for a billing cycle. I think I need to find a few friends :(

At this point I would be happy for an announcement from Verizon just stating when they would make an actual announcement about availability.

Also a photographer I have more cash in my equipment that some do in new cars. I sympathize with the masses wanting perfection in a phone cam but am I impressed with the new ground gained in the GN camera's auto focus and fps speed.

I have mentioned before I tried one a while back and the Batt life was horrid. I really wanted to like the phone. What killed it for me was the low audio volume and felt vibration across the board and its inability to properly load a difficult site I regularly use that the OG did with ease. That was maybe 6 mos ago. Maybe your is better in some ways than my copy was.

Good morning, I hope everyone is having a wonderful weekend.

Looks like some good news on release date and bad news on the volume issue so far today.

I'm still looking for next week as a release because I am hopeful and optimistic as well as the fact that all the "inside sources" people keep talking to or about have still only heard about next week. Fingers and toes crossed. :D

The volume issue can be circumvented a little by just using one of the volume control apps I would believe. Hopefully something that can be corrected quickly and honestly something I wouldn't mind having to wait for a fix on.

Well, I'm off to take care of some cleaning. I gave my minions the weekend off so now I have to do all the work here in the castle. Sweep the floors, fill up the moat, feed the bats, etc.

A friend bought me a tiny radio controlled helicopter. I tried it in the kitchen and it went into the ceiling and broke its blade on the first try. :(

Anywho, it jives with my sister has been saying. So I'm still holding out some semblance of hope.

I texted her for more info, and she says that she won't know anything until tomorrow.
 
All these rumors are making me forget why I wanted the phone so bad in the first place..

They made me fall in love with the slim profile but that's out the window.

Of course there is still the fact the there are only three buttons on the thing which is sexy.

Possibility of 16gb, I can't do with that. I made do on my iPhone with 16 because I was too lazy to convert my movies to mp4.

Now I have the option of watching whatever file type I want and now there is a possibility of only having 16gb, no bueno.

People sing the praises of "cloud" and streaming but why tax your battery when you do have to?

What about the folks not grandfathered into unlimited data?

Also I was thinking about updates, I don't think they will come directly from google.. The firmware for our 4g radios are specific to Verizon. That being said the GSM version isn't as specific as it relates to updates.. I think our updates will still be filtered through Verizon..

Sorry just idly griping..

Well, there was that Verizon doc that listed the GNex as the replacement for the Droid Charge. Had a lot of people worried that the GNex was going to be a watered down phone hardware wise (must have been around post 10,000 or something ancient like that).

Oh, and as far as the release date of the DInc, I believe it was April 17 with a release at the end of the month, so a couple week lead.

I really hope it doesn't launch on Black Friday. I loathe that day, but if it meant that I could get the GNex, I'm push my way through the crowd for it. I really hope an Monday/Tuesday/Wedneseday release.

And this is why I've kept saying the Samsung hardware scares me, ICS or not. I've never had anything but bad experience with Samsung phone hardware.

I think this is it for me. I'll either get the Razr or Rezound and wait for ICS to show up on them. Much better hardware in either case IMO.

Good point, not only that, but if you do a search for GNex(5801) on verizon's site the placeholder image is the charge.

Yippee! People will believe what they want to believe, and I really, really want to believe this :D
My salt grain supply is running extremely low after the events of the last two months, I'd rather not use it here :p

In terms of the volume issue, you have to remember that it's only affecting a very small percentage of phones. If it's even an issue on Verizon phones, then I'll be using RingGuard or something similar.
My only concern with the volume bug is the negative press it's getting. Verizon must be cackling with glee :(

Speaking of which, I'm going to go into conspiracy theory mode and suggest: what if Verizon forced Google to only provide them with 16gb models so that the Razr and the iPhone would have another selling point over the Gnex?

Food for thought.

Yeah I must say, I've been pretty optimistic this whole time but next week seems more than likely because the only rumors of a December release we've seen are screencaps that could be unofficial or just not right... some people know how highly anticipated this phone is so they could just be playing tricks with us. All it takes is a little simple HTML editing and you've got a legit-looking release date document.

Hm, your point and the post you responded to are curious indeed. Could easily be coincidence. At this point, nothing VZW does will surprise anyone.
