***Official Galaxy Nexus Pre-Release speculation thread**

Oooh when did we hear about "do not open until 11/21"? That pretty much sums up my confirmation of release next week right there!!! :D

Scott you are the most optimistic dude that I've ever seen... who I'm afraid will be very disappointed this week (as will I and everyone else).

The first leaked Verizon doc said week of 11/21. 4-Day Websale ends on 11/21. Accessories, training, promo materials have all shown up in stores. Multiple VZ rep confirmations. The list goes on and on, and I'm feeling more and more confident it will be announced on Monday and released in stores after that.

Agreed, and the CSR I talked to on the phone yesterday seemed to know something but wasn't spilling the beans but did specifically say 'We always do presales on BIG releases like this'...it was in regards to if you preorder it you will still get the double data plan.

I interpret that as there will be some big fanfare and announcement and prerelease sales...I don't think that means we will get them next week but possibly preorder them.

Personally I think this whole thing w/ memory changing from 32g to 16g and the lack of an announcement all the way to technically issues is pointing more to logistical issues and on Samsungs side. There is a good possibility the first Gnex will be 32g and after that 16g for awhile at a lower prices because they are having supple issues (maybe Apple was smart and bought up all the 32g chips). This is all speculation of course but I don't think there is enough Gnex's on hand to meet a full in store release and they will start it w/ a big announcement....preorders, and then launch. I think it is Samsung that has been the issue.

I might have taken some liberty with that. Best Buy employee said that they had some new/unmarked boxes behind some "do not cross" line that they couldn't open yet. I can't swear that they had a date on them, or, if we all just assumed that because 11/21 was the accepted date at the time.

Anyone read these tweets from panda/black_man_x?

to be honest everyone is tired of vzw bullshit. device is no longer a nexus due to their dumb ass games.. Unlocked works great on att..

Sorry if these have been posted, take as you will.

this one is particularly troublesome - he's not saying that VZW has locked the GNex down, is he?!?! that would be the stupidest move in a long line of stupid moves by VZW. nope, no way it can happen.........right??!

VZW has to sense the frustration growing within the tech community. If you look at @verizonwireless on twitter most of the responses to everything they post is "when are you going to release the galaxy nexus"

Hey Guys, say this phone comes out tomorrow, (hopefully an announcement today) do you think i'm safe in going to work and going to verizon afterwards? or do you think it would be sold out by then? (work till 5pm EST) and i live over an hour from work. The way i see it these are my options:

1. E-mail my boss and tell her i'm working from home tomorrow and will swap for wednesday and get the phone right when stores open (i usually work from home wednesdays and fridays)
2. i go to work and on my lunch go to Verizon and get the phone if its not sold out.
3. i go to work and after work go to a Verizon near work around 5PM and get the phone.
4. i go to work and after work drive to my hometown verizon and get the phone around 6-7PM.

any opinions?

5. Go to work, bail at 9 - 10 or whenever the store opens, back to work after an 'early lunch'.

that's my plan...

A member that worked at BB said that his store received a box on Friday and it was in the secret area that nobody could go to and it was marked as open on 11/21.

Well currently AOSP is not supporting the CDMA version of the G-Nex. This may only be because the device is not released yet though and folks actually have the GSM versions in hand..

I love being optimistic about this kind of stuff. Why be doubtful it will launch any time soon when you can hope for the best and then if the time comes and it doesn't launch, at least you have another date to look forward to! It feels good :P

think he means the unlocked GN version that will work on the ATT network.

If I would have read this before I went to Verizon yesterday, I would have bought the Rezound. I really loved that phone.

Don't give in. Sure, the Rezound is a nice phone, I'll admit, but the Nexus is an experience worth waiting for. Even the guys who gave critical reviews all said that it was the best phone they've ever used. The folks over at XDA give honest criticism, and if they wrote reviews of the Rezound, they'd be similar, if not worse.

In the end, if you can't decide, then wait for both devices and compare them yourself. Don't buy one or the other because of what strangers tell you.

Really, there was never any reason to believe the SGN has 16 GB besides that stupid mistake on Google's website. All indications point to 32 GB and it's even been confirmed by that one picture of the "Usage" screen on the phone. So I don't think that was ever a problem to begin with, we just thought it was because Google made a mistake.

It's too bad for HTC. The rezound is the logical heir to the Incredible. If the GNex didn't come along, I'm sure I would already have a ReZound because I loved my Dinc. That's why I'm a little afraid to try out a rezound, but I know I want to try the Nexus experience of early updates, and vanilla android.

Edit: Cause I see a lot of the same faces on here that I saw on the Dinc thread. This seems to be that crowd recycling for their next upgrade.

IMO the Rezound is the logical heir to the Thunderbolt, not the Incredible.

I might have taken some liberty with that. Best Buy employee said that they had some new/unmarked boxes behind some "do not cross" line that they couldn't open yet. I can't swear that they had a date on them, or, if we all just assumed that because 11/21 was the accepted date at the time.

But those are supposed to be available starting on the 24th... why would they be able to be opened on the 21st? /methinks the boxes are Nexus-related ;)

Orlando Bull just clarified the statement by saying they took liberty with the date 11/21. So assuming that they were to be held until 11/21 is just that- an assumption.
