is there some kind of proof of swype sending data to their servers? i used swype on all my android devices and hope to use it on the SGN.

Not that I'm aware of, I "think" there may have been something asking if you want to send anonymous data to make swype better. I don't remember and I'm not using swype currently :/

anyone else going to miss the kickstand from the thunderbolt?
One of the accessories shown to me at my local Verizon Wireless corporate store was a hard shell case with belt clip and built-in kickstand.

When I was Boston, this summer, in August. You see, my son was at a summer program at the Berklee Conservatory. There were many bands there. Every night, my son would jam with another band of people who would a band of two or three guitar players (electric). There would be instructors there, who would play bass and drums, thereby forming a kind of band. They were really great! :p
Hilarious! Don't mess with the mod!

No, and I'm not accusing them of anything. It's just a potential security vector. I think that Swype does (or did) auto-add any misspelled words to its local dictionary. If that's a plaintext file, then any other malware that gets on the phone could find it.

Anyway, I always temporarily switch inputs away from a keyboard app when entering sensitive info. Can't hurt, and it might help.

Has anyone read any reviews that touch on (pun intended) the touchscreen and its resistance to finger printing/marks? My Dinc's screen tends to get fingerprinted/smudgy very easily which makes it even harder to use in sunlight. I'm wondering if the SGN's screen is better at keeping fingerprints off of it. TIA!

You gotta love a mod with a sense of humor! :D

+1 for this, great question that I would love to know the answer to as well. Every Samsung (AMOLED) phone Ive had so far was pretty bad in this regard, very prone to oil smudges off your fingers :/

Sorry didn't mean it as you accusing them. I was just curious myself to be more informed!

And you're right. Can't hurt!

I don't know the answer, but try forum searches on "Oleophobic" to see what anybody else has discovered.
