Agreed. Stock launcher looks way too cartoonish. I slapped Go Launcher Ex on it, fiddled with the notification bar colors and hid it upon swipe, and I couldn't be happier. It's really fast. I wonder what kernel they're using. Can't tell if it's overclocked or not but battery life seems to be a bit better than before I rooted.

I'm on my 2nd Droid X, the 1st one, the GPS would lock on in less than 30 seconds on a bad day at first. Then I could go 15 minutes and no lock on. The 2nd one was good for the 1st 2 months and now it's crappy again. Factory resets will fix it for a day or 2 but that gets old real quick.

I have gone thru many captivates before i finally got this one that works pretty well about 15 sec lock even indoors. I think the whole voice turn by turn for me is an very important function for my next android phone
 
miui is clean but too damn i-phony. i was a bugless beast fan for a while but found project elite/sourcery/ and ultimate droid roms more customizable..currently running cushzero .. 3 more weeks? i heart my galaxy nexus..please come home soon.

I actually like it better than stock cm7. But I'm on a droid x, which has a locked bootloader on the gingerbread kernel. So it is a 2nd init port and so far cm7 hasn't been able to out it all together for the X yet without several patches that have to constantly be applied after updating. CM7 is all from source, which is better, where MIUI is built on CM7 and patches in the fixes.

IMO, with the patches on the X, CM7 is great. MIUI is too....I think it just a matter of opinion and taste. Give it a try!

Not that I know of you can pre-order through BestBuy right now but they don't have a release date that I can see.

Try downloading the app GPS Status. It helps me with my X when the fix takes a long time.

I am going to back up my apps and stuff via titanium then i guess i will have to odin back to stock and give it an try

The wait for the phone is probably benefiting us all. I believe they are making sure batt is sufficient, lte works, vol trigger is straight and no lagg glitches. A release day vol trigger bug is ok for the UK but imagine that happening here in the states. All hell would break loose.

But the bad part about the continued "delay" is that the going rate on my perfect condition droid x is dropping with all these new android phones releasing smdh. This baby is my down payment on the nexus!
 
Mercy! This will be the 1st time I have gone full term on a cellular contract.

I have been trying to figure out if this is a seller's or buyer's market these days.
It looks like its a sellers advantage to me. We have the money and they laugh and scoff as we clamber to spend it in all our impatience.

Oh well, my new insurance claim OG Droid has been behaving pretty well. She is like brand new.
 
I've been lurking for awhile and really enjoy the thread.

I decided to stop into a local corporate store this evening and asked what they could tell me about the nexus. The response was it is the exact same thing as the razr, but thicker, other wise it has the same specs. No other info, they really did not seam to know much at all.

I do not understand the partnerships and why Verizon would want to push one phone over another. I would think all Verizon would care about is getting people locked into new/extended contracts. The best way to do that is offer the best possible products as soon as possible. Why does Verizon care if they sell a razr or a Rezound, or a Nexus? The longer it takes to get the nexus out the more customers that may get fed up and look at another network. I doubt they really care if someone rents a phone they still get you locked in for 2 more years. If I am Samsung a would be pretty upset at this point the longer it takes for this to get out the more market share Moto and HTC pick up. The rate the tech evolves the Nexus only has a few months before the quad cores start coming out. How many sales does Samsung lose every day the Nexus sits in a warehouse?
 
Looking at the GSGII and SGN camera comparisons, I hope they are legit....

That low light demonstration has me frothing at the mouth as a PI. It looks good for the restaurant and PUB "Love Ninjas" I bust.:eek:

I want a Time Stamp app.

I was really set on this week, but its not looking good at this point. As far as all this "samsung has confirmed the release for dec 8th" stuff, I don't see anything official from samsung anywhere say this. From this point on I'll just assume its coming out after black friday (Maybe the 27th like the best buy ad and verizon adverstising graph are suggesting).
