Do you regret buying the Droid Razr?

Same thing for me.

I work in a cooler, horrible signal in there, and if I don't mess with the phone, 2-3 hours, I'll lose 5% (about). I use Circle Battery Widget for detailed battery life. I did make a 1 hour and 10 minute call and lost 20% right there but isn't that somewhat normal?

People who are having horrible battery problems either 1, don't know what they're doing or 2 have a bad phone.

This battery is better than the TB, fast as hell, so light I seriously forget I have it in my pocket sometimes, camera is LIGHT YEARS ahead of the bionic, it doesn't get hot, and I'm the guy whose had 3 TBs, 3 Bionics and bitched about every single one.

The incredible was my favorite phone ever, I've had the Razr for 3 days and I'd be lying if I didn't say this phone is only about a week away from taking that title.

You heard of the "it" factor? This phone has "it".

we must be identical, only difference is I've had 5 TBs (3 in one week!) 4 Charges, and for Bionics. The incredible was also my favorite phone , and as of about 6 days and around 11 and a half hour ago, this phone took the title. No probes with mine whatsoever.

If your handset is getting that hot and you are having to shut everything down to get just decent battery performance then there is something going on.

Why don't you list all the apps you have installed so that we may trouble shoot your problem. When I first got my RAZR I was burning up the Android OS with extremely high % numbers. Now I could have complained and said the phone sucks or I could realize something was going on on my end. It was a bad app, problem solved.

This is a PEBKAC and we can help you out. Let us know all the apps your'e running on your handset. Including task killers and virus protection (if any)

apps installed: TWC, ESPN Game Plan, TapaTalk, DirecTV, WatchESPN, Tweetcaster, FaceBook, Fox News, Engadget, Spotify, Pandora, HeyTell, NFL Mobile, Hulu+

I never use Spotify, Pandora, or TV apps unless I am plugged in, BTW.

I am wondering if HeyTell is doing it, but it's not listed as taking up hardly anything.

In fact, nothing is.

Batt life has gotten better since I let it drain, did the charge thing where u charge it, then shut it off and charge another hour.

It's now getting me from 8-6pm or so. I have 1 day left before my 14 days are up (I think, will look at receipt).

I don't regret getting the razr. I love the design and performance and can't ask for anything else! Display is nice too = ) nexus is tempting. But to be honest the razr so on par with it!

Quite an endorsement seeing that the RAZR is still on GB

I say that with the assumption we'll get ICS. Also the speed of the phone isn't noticeably different on the nexus vs the razr aside from the camera app. And this phone doesn't even have ICS yet. So I'm confident that razr owners are not going to be behind the times in anyway with this device. This is solely my opinion.

I've got to say that waiting a few months for ics may not be a bad thing at all. Let the nexus guys beta test and work out the kinks before giving it to us.

Curious to see how many apps run on it out of the gate, too.

I hear ya :)

And I get ya :)

Every time I look at the slick body, huge screen, fast speed I get I regretngetting the phone.... Noooot ;)

:o

Really? Interesting....

Sorry, I got sidetracked there for a min.....glad you are enjoying your phone.

Let us help you out of that gutter jroc... :)

The lady intended to say detail oriented... or possibly OCD. Any other interpretation of her comment will be "frowned upon" by forum management ;)

My Razr is almost unuseable due to the horrific battery life. You can turn everything off except the basic (3G on, everything else off), and it'll still off 50% of your battery life in a normal day with 0 usage and nothing running (normal push schedule).

Based on the battery cycling, it will die 10x faster (literally, perhaps 15x faster) than an iPhone. I don't know what I would do with this Motorola battery, go to a Verizon store?

This is one aspect I heavily underestimated with this phone, it's battery life is not only unacceptable, but appalling. For a 3G phone. When using 4G, you can kiss 50% of your battery life goodbye in an hour or two.

Knowing how poorly Android handles power management (still, after 2 years), I wouldn't even bother trying out the Galaxy Nexus if it didn't have swappable batteries.

I am not being dishonest in saying the razr is the best phone i've ever owned. Switched to Android from iphone for the og Droid, then bionic, now the razr. And I have not seen any lag in browsing, opening apps, or even zooming. I am not an Android fan boy because if the iPhone could do Anything better, that's what I'd be using. I like technology and I go with what is better. I paid 700 for the razr off contract, and if I seen any lag, or ANY defects I wouldn't hesitate to send it back. And so far my razr hasn't given me any reason to be disappointed. If you razr lags doing anything....send it back because you got a lemon of a phone. Oh and i'm getting constant 13hr battery life syncing 3 email accounts and 4 widgets every 2 hours. I don't know what to say to the people experiencing bad things, but I have experienced nothing but lag (less) enjoyment on my razr!

I may end up keeping the Razr for a few reasons, but was considering the Rezound as first choice. The following things have put the Razr ahead:

1. Rezound bottles up the heat when in 4g mode and when cpu intense apps like N64Oid. Razr would probably get just as hot if designed same way, but does a better job dissipating heat.

2. Touch response is better on Razr. Some apps may need to catch up with the high DPI on the Rezound, but that means waiting and assuming apps I like get updated.

3. A lot less glare on the Razr. Watch the Phonedog fight to see the difference, even indoors.

4. The better display contrast is growing on me and the color warmth too. The grain really is not the issue I thought it was, since I end up tapping both displays to get the fonts a little bigger. The Razr and Rezound end up being about the same as a result.

5. Razr is more zippy and less lag issues than the Rezound.

6. Based on 4g comparisons and the cut off point for 4g with both devices, it seems they are equal. (VZW bud has the Rezound as his employee rotation device).

7. The ability to hot swap microsd cards and not even remove the cover is super convenient. Rezound is a complete shutdown and restart.

8. For whatever reason, web content does appear to have a lag issue on the Rezound. Even the Phonedog fight showed it in browser and the market.

In spite of the more awkward use with one hand, I accept the tradeoff for the hotswap card slot.

May have eaten my last waffle.

So, ready to take the really big step and change you device list in your profile? Once you do that, you are kind of committed...

I picked up the phone earlier this morning. It's a great phone overall, but damn... this thing really does get hot. Streamed some music for about 30 minutes, and it was hot to the touch. Not QUITE uncomfortable, but pretty close.

Disappointing :(

The demo units had issues, but the Razr I have been using for five days has not got hot like other devices I have tried, with the Inc and DX2 being heat kings.

Seems to dissipate heat well, but have yet to see an Android device to not get hot and sometimes for no apparent reason.

I've been reading posts on the Rezound, Nexus, and Razr forums here and on XDA all day because I'm still up in the air about what I want to get and whether or not to wait for the Nexus. All I have to say is that each phone is represented by a good number of fanbois and it's made for some entertaining and at times, frustrating reading haha. I'll never understand the inherent human need to defend something that one buys at all costs.

It's typical human behavior. The arguments are so visceral because the consequences of being wrong are so low. The choices between the three really boil down to style and manufacturer loyalty more than anything really earth shattering.

That said, I wouldn't want to characterize everyone who likes one model over the others as a fanboy. Style alone is a legitimate reason to prefer a model.

At the two week point do I regret buying the phone? Not one bit. I'm glad I had a phone the last two weeks--I can't wait forever for the Gnex to show up. Looking at the Rezound, I can say "not for me", but that is based more on style and intangibles than anything else.

The Gnex is bigger, so folks not liking the Razr footprint well be no better with it.
