Happy Thanksgiving everyone! Any new news since yesterday morning? My work laptop died and it took all day to re-image it, so I've been away from this thread for entirely too long :p

Hey guys, I'm new here. Been reading since about page 400 finally decided to join. Don't think anyone else already posted this but engadget just posted a pretty detailed review of the HSPA+ Galaxy Nexus. (Sorry I didn't put a link, it won't let me post any til I post a certain amount of times). Anyways, happy Thanksgiving everyone and I hope the Nexus comes out soon!

Nah, there's no possibility of skipping the trip. We'll be hitting Red River in NM first, then heading up your way.

Can't wait!!

Glad to here that!! Where you planning to hit in CO?

Hopefully you'll have your Nex to take pictures with by then:rolleyes:

It's an ongoing argument right now between Vail, Purgatory in Durango, or Beaver Creek. We're flying into ABQ, heading up to Red River, and then driving to Colorado. I'm not a huge fan of driving long distances, so I'm pushing for Purgatory, but Vail is slowly gaining ground. :)

I went out for a run today. It went well and I vowed not to overeat. For the first time I succeeded. I'd been eating only fish, no meat, foul, dairy or eggs, since June. I decided to break that for today only. I'm glad I did.

My wife's cooking is amAzing. Kudos to Mrs.58.

This Thanksgiving was and is a particular blessing to me because of the changes I see in my family.

The kids are growing up. My daughter will be 23 and my son will be 18. Big difference. My kids are big time wiseguys. (I don't know where they got that from;)) During the meal, my 17 year old begins with all that he's thankful for. (shock). Okay, I thought. Then my wife goes, and I go and my daughter goes. It was a special moment. Generally, during holiday meals, my daughter (when she was a teen) would get all offended and storm off. I guess those days are over.

I told my children how proud I am of them and they they needed to let that sink in deep. Their father approves of them and is proud of the way they carry themselves. They're good people. I expressed thanks for my wife of 32 years (still amazingly more beautiful than women our age and younger.. I told her that.).

What a great day.

Finally, I want to tell you how grateful I am for this place and specifically for you guys. You make me laugh. I appreciate you all.

Happy Thanksgiving,
Steven

Edit: OH! OH! Funniest moment..... I got up to get more iced tea for the family. As I approached my son, I stepped on his foot. (He had no shoes on and it hurt). He loudly expressed his displeasure.

I then said, "I didn't mean it." To which my daughter replied, "Anybody want a peanut?" I could NOT stop laughing. I'm laughing as I write this. I told her she won dad's "line of the day" award. :)

Glad to hear your Thanksgiving went well, Steven :)
Also, I didn't quite get the joke at the end. Care to elaborate?

I Highly recommend Vail. It's my favorite resort and I promise it is well worth the extra drive!!!!!!!

My perspective: I had a Droid X and my wife has a Droid Pro. I enjoyed the X and while I never had it rooted, I had plenty of apps and custom widgets. I also had the extended battery. It was nice, but the bluetooth didn't load my contacts in my car. So I sold it for an Ip4, which I like and just works all the time. Maybe I'm getting old: I have an artificial Christmas tree, use regular shafts in my golf clubs and have gas logs in my fireplace....but I was ready to jump to new technology. The Iphone 4s, just wasn't advanced enough for me. I hope the Samsung Galaxy Nexus is a good phone for a lot of people, but for me, the advancements I want to see, just aren't there yet. I think by late next summer there will be an assortment of phones that would satisfy anyone.

You missed nothing other than our usual bs and love for one another.
Thanks for joining us

I must have missed the conversations about it but I see on droidlife and BGR (courtesy of droidlife) they are both reporting 12/8 as the launch date. Time to get excited!

No offense meant to TeddyEarp, but who is he and why should we be worried?

From what I can gather, he's an insider along the same lines of P3Droid, in that he's got an in with TeamBlackHat and from that he has access to people inside Verizon and the rest of the industry. I'd take what he says with the same grain of salt as you do P3, but given that P3 was right about the 8th rumor almost 2 weeks before anyone else....
