Help First Charge of Galaxy Nexus

Hi Guys

I was one of the first people to buy the galaxy nexus yesterday. I am really excited about this device and just want to make sure I get off to a right start.

I plugged it in to charge as per the manual and it showed it had 80%. I was told by samsung support to leave it on for 6-8hours. Is this the right thing to do as it is already a hundred percent? Shouldn't I be draining it now?

Kind regards

If that's what Support told you then I'd do as they advise. That battery may have been sitting in a partially-charged state for some time so a lengthy iniitial 'soak' will wake all its cells up again.

I have just received this phone but I am unable to turn it on. I am charging it but it shows no signs of charging? Is this normal?

Even if the phone is turned off, you should get a white battery ICON within a few seconds.

Are you sure you have the battery inserted correctly? Are you charging via USB on your computer or with the adapter.

As far as charging the battery, there is very little you can do to affect the overall life or capacity of the battery. Mine arrived with 80% and I just started to use and for the day and charged at night before I slept.

Sorry but I would feel rather foolish waiting for hours AFTER the battery was fully charged as at the point the device sense that battery is charged, it stops charging!:p

There is no reaction whatsoever. I've tried both the pc and the adaptor and there is no response. Sounds like mine is faulty. Typical.

Edit: Who'd have thought it, I dropped it by accident and the battery fell out, replaced it and it worked. Weird!
