***Official Galaxy Nexus Pre-Release speculation thread**

I still think it's going to launch on 12/8, but if it does launch the week of 11/28, it won't be the 28th or 29th. If this week is the week, it will launch on the 1st because verizon normally releases phones on thursdays and with that business insider report saying that samsung confirmed it being delayed until december; it would be the perfect alignment that the thursday of that week is December 1st. It's an outside shot, but my money is still on the 8th.

I thought the business insider story was garbage? Does someone have a link to an article with SUPPORTING FACTS? That article had no facts, no proof, nothing. But I've been away from the thread for a few days and may have missed the info backing up the Samsung report of delays until December.

I feel like Moses. I want to yell to the Pharaoh (Verizon),

"Let my Galaxy Nexus go!"

Now if (be still my heart) they were to release our phone Monday morning, does that mean this thread will close down at 1030 am?

If it does, I'd like to make a post Thanksgiving (nod to 3vil) suggestion that we try to break another Incredible record. Anonimac's epilogue received 257 "Thanks." I know we can beat that.

So she had no idea in the store, then got some kind of information between the time you asked in the store and when she emailed? So 12/19 - 12/23 (probably 12/22 if Verizon sticks to the Thursday release date).

I guess it sort of makes sense if the Droid4 is slated for 12/8. But that will really piss me off that they will be pushing another Droid phone before the SGN. It just seems strange that she had no info, then emailed you the week of the 19th. How long between your visit and her email with that info?

i was in just around 7-8pm EST time friday and she sent that today around 3:30…EST....i pray she's wrong.

Just to inject a bit of Verizon realism, the ad campaign that starts on the 28, according to that leaked document, refers to a general Samsung portfolio and sticks in a "with Galaxy Nexus" almost as an afterthought. It may be that we'll see a Samsung campaign begin on the 28, but with no inclusion of the Nexus until farther down the road.

I do think it's possible that we will hear something next week, I'm just not getting my hopes up.

Yeah, that's what I brought up about an hour ago. Among all craziness about the R phones, lost was the fact that samsung did release the illusion on the 23rd. They'll probably promote that for the time being, even if it is only a 3g phone and very outclassed by modern day standard. Unless they decide to start a very delayed set of adds about the stratosphere.

Can someone explain to me why Facebook's menu button options don't show up on ICS (as shown in other apps by the 3 vertically stacked dots)? I don't get it :S

Even though I'm sure I've been ninja'd 1000 times by now, I'll do my best to answer this as from what I've observed. Google and Facebook have kind of been going through a power struggle of sorts lately, thus why Facebook sync wasn't included stock on GB, I would not be surprised if this is an extension of said power struggle.

Ugh, I really hope she's wrong. But if she was able to obtain that kind of info, surely other stores would be telling their customers the same thing and we'd see other reports here? Was she the store manager or just a sales person?

I gasped. The women with me got concerned and asked if I was ok. I just nodded. :(

lol, like i said, take it with a few pounds of salt, it will be a very drawn out and sad december if it releases that far in. lets all gather round and pray for a monday announcement stating a very near future release *holds out hands*

just a sales person, she sent it from her @verizon email so i'll try to email and find out where she got that information.

That actually doesn't bother me at all. I keep an old apk of a version of facebook that is all inverted and use that when I decide to install it.

Christmas Eve wouldn't surprise me in the least. When Verizon sets a vague time line ("This Summer" for the Bionic; "Later this year" for the Nexus), they hold off til the last possible moment.

Every day after the 8th the Nexus stays unreleased is another day I administer a small scratch on their precious Dinc2's screen.

If they delay past Xmas, it goes in the toilet.

You would be correct that the article didn't provide sources or any facts. Whether there's truth to it or no is yet to be determined though. I take it as one of many pieces to a puzzle, even if all of the pieces don't belong to the puzzle I want to solve. Like I said though, I still think the 8th is the day until something more solid comes along.

Well yeah, Google is pushing Google+ instead. But the whole Facebook menu button not working thing doesn't really make sense regardless...

As bad as it is, I LOLed really hard at this post. I really think I'll have to join the Rent-a-RAZR crowd at some point next week. Multiple freezes, battery pulls and subsequent resent text messages is making this Continuum ultra-hard to tolerate.

It goes beyond pushing Google+ (though I wouldn't be surprised if that is an underlying motive), from what (albeit little) I understand, FB has refused to abide by Google's policies in one way or another.
