NOTHING new on VERIZON!!!!

I tried warning you guys. Like I said before, the lady and I from the exec office got along real well. I wouldn't think she would call me two times in a row before two supposed big release leaks to lie to me. I just expected a call when it is ready, and nothing before that. She'd have no reason to call me out of the blue and lie to me. Sorry guys. I want it too!!!

You all realize that for the last month people at Verizon have been lurking here reading this thread and laughing at us right?

By the way because of all the delays GNex isn't the first phone in America to run ICS. Cyanogen has release ICS hacks for the other Galaxy phones. So now Verizon can only claim the first *Official* ICS phone in America.

I have it on good authority that the ones who get paid for 3rd party bloatware are the manufacturers......NOT Verizon. I don't know if that's true, but I do trust the channel that came from. If so, then there is no reason to push one phone over another.

You may be right for apps like Blockbuster, but VZW's content delivery apps would generate revenue directly for VZW.

Besides, manufacturers getting paid for bloatware should still result in higher margins for VZW, although I have a feeling that Google helps subsidize the cost of Nexus phones to offset that somewhat.

A Verizon rep just called me to follow up on an email I sent that basically told them where they could stick their current line of devices. A few interesting (or at least entertaining) bits information* came out of it.

1) When I asked about the delay: he pointed to the expediency of the Razr release and said that when a phone was held up, it was to fix some user experience issue that Verizon found to damning to release the device.

I assumed as much but it does suggest that there was a legitimate reason for the delay and that it wasn't held back so that the Razr and the Rezound could sell. Those phones will sell regardless of the Galaxy Nexus because they each have a different appeal and are all capable devices. It has nothing to do with Verizon pushing bloatware, as the revenue from Let's Golf is minuscule compared to the value of a two year contract.

2) He told me that he already received training on the device. He did know enough about the device that I am inclined to believe him.

3) This one is fun. He told me that while he couldn't say anything specific (as he obviously wasn't allowed), he advised watching the forums "for some good information". His tone and emphasis indicated rather strongly that he was hinting at something, but I don't want to start up a fire storm of speculation. I did, however, find it interesting that he referred me to forums for up to date information on the Galaxy Nexus, especially since forum chatter is usually rife with conflicting rumors. Most other reps only directed me to the sign up page.

So take that as you will. Who knows, maybe that 11/29 pre-order has some legs after all? (Grain. Of. Salt.) Oh, and the sales representatives at two of my local Verizon stores told me that they were told to expect it in stores in a couple of weeks. (Even more salt. Salt salt salt.)

Pardon our skepticism, but if you have information, do share. A "gut" feel? So in other words, it's a complete guess with no credible source or evidence. ;)

I think he has been saying a Tuesday announcement since 11/25. and the gut in quotations seems to hint towards some insider info? No idea really. We'll see tomorrow I guess.

Edit: D'oh! Didn't notice your "wink smiley". Disregard in that case :)

I guess we don't have to wait long to find out, true. After the tons of rumors that wound up being bogus (or out of date information), I'm just really skeptical at this point. :/

Well WE are certainly a bunch of losers! Lol. Sitting here watching the clock and waiting on a gmail! And I had FINALLY convinced myself that I was gonna pass on the GN, and the dirty bastids go and tease a sub-200 price to me! I just recently got into rooting, flashing, and modding....and I'm hooked! If they dangle that carrot in front of me in my "vulnerable state.....I'm probably a goner! (help me) lol
