Root Wondering if this is my headset or my phone?

I have a HTC Evo 4g rooted with mikg v2.61 and a plantronics voyager pro headset. Recently I have been having major issues where the phone disconnects from the headset then it wont reconnect. I may be leaning toward the fact that the headset is going considering the charging port has started to fail and sometimes it will go off and not go back on for a good while. Just wondering if anyone else has had any problems like this with this phone and custom rom I am using. Like I said though I am about 80% sure its the headset, just wanted some input from you guys. Thanks in advance.

moved you to the rooting section

i would try and wipe dalvik cache and cache and see if that helps.

I did that when I installed the rom. I will try it again but I just need to make sure I am not gonna loose everything by doing that am I? Also something I noticed is when I go into the bluetooth settings and try to connect it makes the phone start lagging really badly to the point where I have to reboot it.

Alright I cleared delvik cache and cache and when I rebooted the phone connected right to the headset no problem. We will see if it stays that way or continues to give trouble. Thanks everyone for the input though.

just clearing dalvik cache and cache will not harm your data or setup. that only happens when you wipe data or system.

and anytime you run into small issues like that always try and wipe dalvik cache and cache first. it usually fixes most small issues.

alright it was working fine yesterday but this morning it was back to its old tricks. I really think its the headset though because it goes off randomly and it never used to do that. Unless it is going off on its own because the phone disconnects from it and it shuts itself off to save battery but it has never done that before even when it has become disconnected for long periods of time in the past. What do you guys think? Should I just get a new headset or try something else?

it never hurts to try a new headset, plus you get a new headset:D
