Hmm, why do people believe P3droid about this?

1) He has a track record of having and knowing about prerelease devices (NOT release dates, that's just pure BS)

2) He actually has an LTE Gnex, which is more than any of us can say

3) You can't take a screenshot of a screensaver because that requires touching the device and thus deactivating the screensaver... so he took a photo. How is that not proof?

4) This is not the kind of pot stirring P3 delights in. If he was lying it would be more like "omg omg, gnex has a bug, it broke my phone I hate google"

I know he's a Windsock sometimes but that doesn't mean you should discount everything he says.

with all due respect scott, your 100% certainty has turned out to be 0% every step of the way. P3Droid has said a lot that has actually come through.

Well then I guess I'm not telling you not to believe him, but I'm strongly suggesting you don't believe him, because he's just making stuff up and he has no evidence that 4.1.0 even exists. I have better proof/reasons that he doesn't have it than he does that he has it.

I have nothing but respect for most of your posts, I look forward to reading them as they are usually quite insightful.
That being said your stance on this is ridiculous. Why would we doubt for a minute that he got 4.1? He's using a developer device, designated for testing purposes. Its different than a consumer device. It would be expected for new versions of android to be tested before they are publicly noted or acknowledged.
Also, he posted a screeny.

Now your making some bold claims. Where is your proof? How are you 100% certain? If he has it, great. If he doesn't, oh well. He is probably dead on on the information. He usually is. Windsock or no, he does have a nexus and we don't, so obviously he has better sources than us.

I will have to take scott's side on this. 4.1 would be a major revision of the OS.(which isnt even on a US carrier yet as 4.0) P3droids claim seem to be a bit far fetched.

every time you tell us something, preorder, release date, source etc you just expect people to believe your word, and your word has been wrong every time that ive seen.

All I asked for was a screenshot of the software version number, at least some proof that he indeed has 4.1.0. He refused, and slyly ignored all evidence I have against him, shooting back with responses such as:

When did it get all 9th grade in here? I just ended drama like this in my first period class today. And that was Freshmen. I wish I was drama adviser, instead of yearbook adviser.

Scott, you're a good kid and all that, but you have to understand that when you've spent the last hour sending countless tweets to P3Droid attacking everything he says, he's not bound to be cooperative with your petty requests.

And anyway, who cares what number version it is on right now? It hasn't been released. Whether it gets released with 4.0.2 or 4.1, that is still going to be the starting point for the device. Since there was nothing to compare it to in the past since it hasn't been released yet, then it really doesn't matter, it's a number that doesn't mean anything.
 
P3Droid just said there is stuff that a screenshot would show that he doesn't want people to see. Why lie? He has never lied about anything worthwhile. He is more believable than a lot of people.

I believe his word over anyone else saying that they 100% know he doesn't have it without actually knowing it. If he is lying he will lose a lot of credibility but until then I believe him.

Also like others have said he has the LTE version and it is not the same as the GSM model and his is the developer version.

I can understand jumping on p3d about some things but in this case it makes perfect sense that he has 4.1 for ics. He is a tester and its their job to test the builds before we get the phone. Everything we have heard today indicates that they think the final build is done and is ready for release. So wouldn't they give it to the testers to make sure its ok?
