So all this talk of 4.1 being real or fake, were there any "major" feature additions when there was the switch from 3.0 to 3.1? I'm not very familiar with Honeycomb.
 
I should think that there will be a change log when the 4.1 update hits the AOSP code repository and then many questions will be answered based on the facts of the fossil record. Could be wrong, but would be surprised.

FWIW - this thread surpassed 1.2 Dincs (previous standard of thread size) several posts back. I thought I would toss that in.

Why do you think that VZW is fixing bugs? From what I have been reading, I infer that VZW is testing the phones and the fixes, but the fixes are coming from Google and Samsung.

The story about the moms piano thing and his store rep making an order days ago. And then he flames p3droid, a guy we know who has the phone and good contacts in high places.

Just saying Scott, you probably didn't like when ppl were accusing you of lying when you gave us your info (which turned out to be wrong). And you were a new member with a somewhat "unreliable" track record.

Treat others as you want to be treated.

I let them know that I wanted to get the Galaxy Nexus, maybe if it was for a phone already out it may have made a difference but I was trying to arrange it before the phone was available so I could order without delay.
From what I understand I need to order through the website and not at the store because I get a $30 discount for the employer I have on file plus by ordering on line I get the $35 activation fee waived. I would like to also have my NE2 discount though even though it is only $30 (seems ridiculously small considering it used to get free phone.
Maybe I should go into a store and ask what type of discount I have if I bought a Razr in store and then let them know I would wait for a GNex. I would consider a rent-a-razr but I don't want to set up a phone just to redo it once the phone I want comes out, plus with no official release announced I don't want to get stuck with a restocking fee.

And I know I haven't been the most reliable member here, but it's only because I'm trying to play my cards at the guessing game too...

I would love to see a chart of major phones for the past year or two that shows:

Carrier- FCC Approval Date - Date Announced- Date of Presale- Date Released

It would be great if AF could keep something like this up to date and easily accessible. I believe that it would help us all to better guess the actual release date of future phones.

It's a good idea... but I think that the reality is that what happens with one phone (Razr) is very different than what happens with another phone (GN). Bugs, Marketing, competing phones, etc...

There are a lot of folks (about 20 more than usual) on irc tonight. I don't know why. I am using irc for chat parties around events, so I asked if there was an event going on. There isn't... shrug.

I assure you.. the action is here. You don't need to go to IRC. This place is still hopping. We've streamlined it to where that which is off topic is not in "hide tags" and the on topic stuff still rolls out. You're good. Don't worry about it.

Additionally, there is an ebb and flow to communication around these releases. We're not trending down, as yet. :)
