There was a custom kernel developed for the GSM Version of the Nexus that allows for USB Host mode to be enabled and a flash drive to be mounted or wireless mouse to be used.

I think you have it. It doesnt matter how good the picture is, if it is slow you miss the shot. There are always compromises. Higher MP = slower, especially in a phone or point and shoot.

IMHO, in a phone, lower f-stop for low light and faster focus, shoot and write speed is much more practical.
 
QotD: Considering we have all been waiting 6+ weeks for this "miracle phone" to release, now that it is likely just around the corner, does anyone plan to wait 1-2 weeks after it drops before buying just to see if there are any major snafus with hardware/software?

My meek super-ego says I should wait for SGN-LTE specific reviews, but every time he tries to speak up, a giant carnivorous id jumps on him and swallows him whole...

Unfortunatly, I don't have any data for you guys regarding which is the more likely OS version scenario but I can say that everyone will see version 4.0.2 upon release either at stock or with an update prompt.

I'm not a full camera pro, but I am constantly surrounded by them. This jives with what they would say. All about write times. More data means slower movement of data. Yup Yup. Its why for family or puppy quick pics I wouldn't shoot in raw, too much data makes any camera laggy, sometimes the pro ones are even slower than consumer because of that. Sports photographers don't shoot in max mp a camera allows or they'd miss the action.

I know Marvel ranks their characters, as far as crossing "Universes" I couldn't imagine they have compared He-Man to any Marvel characters. I was say Hulk is darn near one of the strongest in the Marvel Universe as far as physical strength. They state the limit of his strength has yet to be found.

Thankfully, that concept is also translating to Verizon, who along with every other carrier (including Sprint for the future), will also be transistioning to LTE.

It may be a few years away, but we're getting to a point where we'll be able to buy any released phone and use it on any carrier. Only problem with Verizon LTE is 3G fallback is CDMA. So as I said, it's going to be several years before this is a complete reality.

Any idea when we'll see the 4.1 update? Are we talking days or weeks? Also, do you happen to know anything about when/if the Nexus will support USB host mode/USB On the Go without requiring root/a custom kernel? Thanks.

The Hulk is strong, but you can still blow him up if you have a missile launcher. He usually just jumps out of the way or catches it, but come on, really? Jumping out of the way of a missile? Catching it? Not very realistic.

Top 5 strongest super heroes of all time:

1. Superman (almost too powerful, actually)

2. Thor (can manipulate energy and has Mjolnir, the magic warhammer that can open holes through space and time)

3. The Green Lantern (only limitation is his imagination)

4. Wonder Woman (super sex)

5. Han Solo (no explanation needed).

I'm not waiting, that's what a 14 day return period is for. But even so, I think if there were some major hiccups, they would have been exposed in the GSM models.

It's important to those who are not prof photographers and want a reasonably decent camera for everyday use. For others who take few pics or those who use a prof camera, the one in the phone is a non issue.

Just like the phone quality, a few use the phone to make calls very little. They use texting almost exclusively. For others, a lower quality phone is a deal breaker.

Come down to user needs.

Exactly Han. Remember the screen shot of the guy's Gnex that had the "WTF error". I really don't think that will be "available" on the consumer version.

this is VERY good news :) My one issue with most phone's camera's is the low-light performance.

IMO, cameras in phone shouldn't be compared to or try to replace a dedicated camera

It seems that GN follows I consider should be the design goals of a phone camera. Being able to go from "stand-by" to first shot quickly(and following shots), and to perform well in a variety lighting conditions(low light).
 
Is "The Roosevelt" still around? He's been having some Twitter discussions with P3Droid lately. Just wondering if he deciphered any of it. He always tweets in codes or something.

So I check the forum after class and see numerous posts calling for a change in the thread title for 12/8. I'm assuming there are recent "tips" from insiders? I'm aware of recent developments posted on phandroid like cellebrite and 4.1, but none of those point to the 8th in particular. Can someone please sum up for me what happened in the last few hours to warrant a clamor for an OP change?

Sorry to be lazy...but once I start thread searching I'm committed for more time than I can give right now. Thanks in advance ;)

Almost every review has mentioned the camera being 5 MP instead of 8, but I'd say it's beyond certainty that it passes the "reasonably decent" test. ;)

Can't just "blow" the Hulk up silly Han, the big thinkers of the marvel community saw him as a threat and flung him at the Sun. He survived that conquered another planet and came back to Earth and started murdering every super hero he felt was involved (See World War Hulk)
