I'm not here to validate or call BS to Garland's information....but in fact a CSR rep or Tech support rep from VZ could have and probably have played with the Nexus by now.

As I stated my son who is a VZ tech support rep works in a large VZ support facility...they have CSR and Tech support personal in the same building and there has been a "Road Show" of sorts going from facility to facility all over the country providing the employees a chance to ask questions and to provide them all with a "hands On" opportunity with all of the latest 4g LTE phones and the Nexus was one of those devices.

As far as the rest of the statement and the CSR's comments, well I have no confirmation if her information is true or not....maybe I will know more when I see my son later this evening.

Yeah my sister is also Tech Support and works in a fairly big facility with all that stuff. They also had the "roadshow" you mentioned (was sometime shortly before Thanksgiving). They basically each got quick amount of time with the Nexus or whatever else they wanted to mess with. Basically a quick, "here it is, play with it for a few seconds and give it back" lol.

I am in the same boat, except I already use my gift cards and bought the Rezound. The nice thing about Best Buy is that I still have the standard 14 return policy that Verizon has, but I also have a 30 exchange policy through Best Buy. So I can return my Rezound (which I plan on doing) and pick up the Nexus. If I find a problem with the Nexus during those first 30 days I can get a new one or return the Rezound. All of this with 0 restocking fees too.

Hmm.. well good to know it works well for others because GV is really nice.

I'll have to do some trial and error to see whats up.. Maybe deactivate and reactivate.

CSR's are bottom feeders on the food chain. There's no way they would have "played with a Nexus".

when i was younger and getting myself back on my feet, i used to work for vzw (vzw employed not a contract call center) in houston back in '05 when there used to be a department called wdts (wireless data technical support). there was only one other actual vzw call center in folsom, ca then. anyhow, i left as that department merged with regular customer support reps and those that had tech support experience still got pulled into meetings/trainings to get to mess around with new devices, commonly asked questions, and troubleshooting.

so pretty much saying that it's pret-ty possible that they still pull a handful of reps off the phones (stagger) to train them accordingly. some phones had both online and hands-on training. just speaking on personal experience.

that being said, i'm not sure what rumors to believe anymore. :)

I know this is old hat, but how long ago did Han come back? And was it to regain sanity?

It's not really far fetched to think a Samsung rep could have come to her store with a GNex. We have seen that multiple times so far. He/she may have let her play with it for a few minutes.

You have to be careful doing that. Last time I did that there was a cop hiding at the gas station and he wasn't to happy with me. I wasn't to happy with the ticket he gave me either.
