Fastest and smoothest pinch-to-zoom experience I've seen on any phone, including the iPhone 4S. :)

1) Yep! That slight curve gives it a more natural look and feel and less bland and blocky like the SII. Back cover has a slightly more pronounced texture but good quality plastic.

2) Very white! Had a white t-shirt and pretty much matched it when I looked at Google.com on the browser. Hands down best display I have seen on a smartphone since the iPhone 4.

3) I did and I could not tell at all even if there was a tilt. I'm pretty sure the only thing "tilted" is the actual surface, all internals including the display itself is flat.

4) Not at all! Because of that high resolution you are able to fit a lot more on that screen than you think. And even that permanent Google search on the home screen didn't feel like wasted space. Besides, you can't use that space anyways if you remove it (it's been tested already).

5) Over 9000 ;)

Music app resembles a lot of the Google Music out that's out now but a few minor UI tweaks here and there.

TLDR: If you like the Google Music app you will like this one as well. :)

Yep. Same way as in all current Verizon 4G phones. Right in the settings under "Mobile Network".

Don't mind me. It's just 2:40AM right now. ;)

I know that was a lotta questions so thanks heaps for your efforts...from the sounds of it, this phone is quite frankly perfect for my needs.

CES & quad core..pfft
MWC & 720p SAMOLED+ screen on the SGS3...get outta here

Me want a Nexus that is guaranteed to get Jellybeen ASAP:cool:

OK ladies and gentlewomen Monday at 11:45 CST the 7 Day sale will end. Will the iPhone killer be unveiled...we shall see.

iPhone killer? I don't understand - the Evo was unveiled last year at Google IO and in our hand last June.

Now that Apple has caught up with the Evo 3D (minus the 3D part) ... (*)

So - you must be new here. Can I interest you in the Samsung Galaxy Nexus?

* - footnote -

No, seriously, I think iOS 5 is great. Widgets and everything. We just call that Android 1.6, aka Donut, but hey, those are still great features! :)

And to think I was in the city for the day and didn't even realize how close I was to a genuine GNex! BUMMER!

Thanks for all the great info from all who were lucky to experience it "in the flesh"!!

Google has been insistent to the Open Handset Alliance partners that new phones be update-able for all Android revs for 18 months after launch.

I think Nexus owners have the least to worry about, but that's just me. ;) :)

but..but...but...Siri
lol haha I should seen that coming. Yes...well...maybe I was refering to the judges descision to not ban Samsungs product because he himself wanted the Nexus. :D and that made it the iPhone killer :)

That's true, but ponder this.

Let's say that a non-Nexus phone is released in March of 2012. It is guaranteed to be updated until September of 2013. Therefore it would be guaranteed to get "Jellybean". However, there is nearly zero chance of getting "Kit-Kat", which would be open sourced in December of 2013. I believe that the Nexus would be guaranteed at least Kit-Kat, if not "Lemon-meringue pie" as well.

Following on from this, even if a phone released with ICS in September 2012, I would find it INCREDIBLE if it were updated to Kit-Kat.

PS: I know some may say that they would have upgraded in that time anyway, but not everyone has the coin to buy a new phone every year or 2.

I could be wrong, but that's just the way I see it.:)

let me ask you guys a random question. if the ability to get updates early was so important to you, why didn't most of you get the previous nexus phones and got droids instead?

Speaking for myself...I got the Galaxy S because the store I went to didn't have any iPhones at the time (don't torch me:D)and the salesperson recommended it to me. Long story short, I loved the vividness of the screen and bought it. At the time I had barely any idea what android was and thought it would be cool to have a different phone. Seeing that my Galaxy S and my friend's HTC Desire HD won't be upgraded to ICS officially, I personally decided to buy a Nexus phone, which I know will be upgraded promptly and without me having to root it (the Nexus One is the anomaly here...but that's due to a hardware limitation according to Google).

Hope that helps.

Ok, so I got hold of Steven and told him about how unhappy I was that he ran off to NYC to check out the Galaxasaurus without me.

WifelyMon got a picture of the exchange between us! :(

Sort of OT

What do u think Google will name their os updates after they finish the alphabet(also I can't think of a dessert for x,y,z)

Also what kind of features do u think will be in, for lack of a dessert name, "z"
